BLOODLINE ASCENDANT (PALADIN)
-While most paladins draw their power from devotion to a deity or the very concept of good and order, there are those that intermingle with with inherent arcane power. Bloodline ascendents, as they are called, are paladins that gradually uncover the power left to them by an ancestor, forming a bond with the blood that flows through their veins.

-Bonus Feats: At 4th level, the bloodline ascendant gains Eschew Materials as a bonus feat. At 6th level and every three levels thereafter, the blood ascendant may choose to receive one bonus feat chosen from a list specific to his chosen bloodline in place of a mercy normally gained. The bloodline ascendant must meet the prerequisites of a bonus feat in order to select it. For the purpose of selecting mercies, they must have selected one previously to access those made available at 6th, two to access those made available at 9th, and three to access those made available at 12th. This alters and replaces the standard Paladin's Mercies.

-Spellcasting: Beginning at 4th level, a bloodline ascendant gains the ability to cast a small number of divine spells drawn from the paladin spell list. This functions identically to the standard paladin's spellcasting, except they are considered spontaneous spellcasters instead of prepared, and know only a limited portion of their spell list. The number of spells known at a given level are listed on the table below. This alters the standard paladin's spellcasting.

-Divine Bond (Bloodline) (Sp): Rather than forming a bond with their weapon or a mount, a bloodline ascendant forms a bond with the very blood flowing through their veins. Upon reaching 5th level, a bloodline ascendant gains a bloodrager bloodline. This choice is made at 5th level and this choice cannot be changed. A bloodline ascendant's effective bloodrager level for his bloodline abilities is equal to his bloodline ascendant level. To use any ability that normally functions when in bloodrage, the bloodline ascendant must enter a heightened state. The bloodline ascendant can enter and leave this state as a free action, and may be in this state for a number of rounds per day equal to twice their bloodline ascendant level plus their charisma modifier.

-At 7th, 10th, 13th and 16th levels, a bloodline ascendant leans an additional spell derived from his bloodline. These spells are in addition to the number of spells given on the table above. These spells cannot be exchanged for different spells at higher levels. If a bloodline ascendant takes levels in another class that grants a bloodline, the bloodlines must be the same type, even if that means the bloodline of one of the classes must change. Subject to GM discretion, a bloodline ascendant can change his former bloodline to make them conform. This ability replaces the standard Paladin's Divine Bond.
