If 3.5 cantrips were like PF ones, which would you use for cleric?
Any suggestions are welcome from 1st party books or dragon mag.

I would use them all because clerics don't have cantrips in 3.5.

The classics are cure minor wounds, which might actually be a bit borked with infinite casting, detect magic, and create water. Beyond that, purify food and drink has some decent utility, as does mending. Out of core, amanuensis from the spell compendium is quite powerful, and no light from the book of vile darkness is pretty good.

Guidance. Outside of combat this can get a lot of use.
No Light and a Ring of the Darkhidden can be a neat trick.

Oh wow! You are so insightful. Its so great you came along and suggested that. However do without your advice.

Now, the fact that some 0 level spells refer to themselves as cantrips. Like for example candle light from 3.0 book Ghostwalk.

The light produced by this cantrip is not strong enough to counter or dispel any magical darkness.

But yeh. Your great advice has been noted, but not welcomed. Please dont try to help again.

Thank you to the rest of the contributors.

Chill down, partner. The thing he's speaking is that Clerics, and all divine spellcasters, use orisons instead of cantrips. Clerics in PF use cantrips because Paizo developers used the term.

That said: Cure Minor Wounds, Detect Magic and Guidance. The first would become the most reliable form of out-of-combat healing, since it'd be infinite-use; coupled with the Touch of Healing power, you can take anyone from wounded to top-shape in a few minutes. The second is one of the most flexible powers around, given that you can use it not just to detect if an item is magical or not, but also to potentially detect hidden or invisible creatures if they are within area and are not under a barrier that would block divinations. The third is incredibly flexible, as it is essentially a free +1 bonus to any skill check, which can be useful in the long run.

If you're creative, Create Water (no pun intended) is another solid choice. However, it relies on what you can do with 2 gallons/CL worth of water. If you're willing to commit catgirl genocide, you can make some incredible uses. Even if you don't...well, how about filling a pit with water (slowly but surely)? Or use that water to create a weight, which could be used as an impromptu way to disarm traps?

still it was a needless jab at the OP that added nothing to the thread.

cure minor wounds. you would never need lesser vigor wands ever again.

slash tongue is great in level 1 combat.

Amanuensis is useful for copying maps and stuff.

But so evil.

most options in 3.5 that are not from the players handbook and are good are just evil or piously good.
