Pious Templar Spell List

Which is the better choice for a neutral Pious Templar the paladin spell list or the blackguard and why in your opinion? Assuming all wotc books are legal.

Well the paladin spell list is bigger and by default in 3.5 more options= more powerful. So just based off of that I'd go with paladin but I'm not that familiar with the blackguard spell list to really compare them otherwise.
