Where did that warforged get a lightsaber?

Brilliant Energy Weapon.

He had someone cast Continual Flame on his greatsword. :smalltongue:

That would be a cool little detail for a smithy; "Every weapon here has an ominous energy effect"

Pretty sure it's just a regular sword, and happens to be catching the light.

Also why would someone want to crop out the fact that he is getting ready to air drop onto a moving train?

It could have been done deliberately to make it look like a lightsaber. Without the sword tip it looks like one with it it looks like a normal sword.

Well, 30% of magic weapons glow.

Well, see those two seagulls in the foreground? They are actually a Wild Shaped Dvati druid who continously cast Light on his sword for effect.

Also, the train is actually a scale model, the lake in the background is filled with acid, and the ship is self-conscious and empty safe for the warforged.

Shouldn't he sheathe the sword before dropping to help his balance while... actually, never mind, it's more awesome this way.

He doesn't even have a sheathe.

Well, 30% of magic weapons glow.

Is this an actual statistic?

An oft-forgotten one.

Fully 30% of magic weapons shed light equivalent to a light spell (bright light in a 20-foot radius, shadowy light in a 40-foot radius). These glowing weapons are quite obviously magical. Such a weapon can’t be concealed when drawn, nor can its light be shut off. Some of the specific weapons detailed below always or never glow, as defined in their descriptions.

Yep. When rolling for random loot, when you come across a magic weapon you're supposed to roll a d100. 1-30 is glowing, 31-100 is not.

If you look at the underside of the sword it is dark, so it clearly isn't a lightsaber anyway.

And it also adds 500 gp to the market price for being an Illuminating weapon (MiC p36). This is what happens when people make weapon properties without reading the entire magic weapon description.

If you want a lightsaber, you be a warlock and get one of those rods that gives you the eldritch glaive blast shape. Also, dip into an initiator class so you can mountain hammer though objects (a brilliant energy weapon doesn't do well against inanimate objects, which makes it a poor lightsaber).

Nope. Illuminating is what you put on a weapon that isn't glowing, but you want it to. There is an important distinction, as well, because Illuminating weapons only glow when drawn, and can be turned off by putting it away. Normal glowing weapons cannot be turned off ever, merely covered.

Looks great skewering ghosts though.

Um that shouldn't work, should it? I mean Brilliant energy weapons dont work on Corporeal undead, but would it work on incorporeal?

Edit: Also its obviously a Beam Sword.

Ghostwalk has a special clause that allows brilliant energy weapons to damage Ghostwalk "ghosts".

News to me on the first one, forgot about the second.

Sorry, I was referring to the campaign specific use of "ghost". I'll make that more clear in the original.
