I want to make a caster who's morbidly obese, and therefore focused his studies on magical means of movement (eventually becoming a specialist of teleportation spells). The way I see him, he's so obese that his normal movement is extremely difficult (slow flaw) and I'd like his to basically stay in a comfortable old chair that he's enchanted to continuously levitate at roughly his normal speed. What's the cheapest way to get that, and the lowest level I can make that work?

The first thing that comes to mind is Elocater. At-will flight with perfect maneuverability, but your speed drops to 10 feet if you're more than a very short distance above the ground. You also get Psionic Teleport as a 3rd level power.

The second thing that comes to mind is Tenser's Floating Disk.

Use a lizard-like race, and you'll have a Slann. :smallcool:

I was thinking Tenser's Floating Disk, too. Maybe make a wondrous magic item that has a continuous TFD effect? It'd be about 2,000 gp at the minimum (4,000 if your GM wants to point out a chair doesn't take up a slot), which strikes me as being a whole lot cheaper than going into a PrC.

Talisman of the Disk already exists. Make one at a higher caster level to improve the duration and you should be set.

For bonus points, give the talisman to your familiar so that the disk follows them automatically. That way they can tow you around at their speed with their action, instead of you spending your own move action to move at a slower speed.

Buy a custom made chariot, a parasol, and a wand of mount. Use unseen servant spells for the laziest things you can think of. Charm Person anyone who calls you out on it.

haha, ive wanted to make a character like this for a while too.

I toyed with the idea of making a necro with undeads that could lift him around maybe on a throne of sorts.

Amusing character concept, hope you have fun.

How about making the caster Tiny (by being a Muckdweller or Jermlaine, for example) and giving him one of the various Small familiars, like an albatross? Mounts: not only for paladins anymore.

If you were doing this in pathfinder there is a (I think itsa PrC) class called blood mage that has a simmilar bloating theme. But I believe that is more blood than fat. Something to look into for ideas I guess.
