While we're waiting for 976 - did anyone ever mention that strip # 625 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0625.html) and strip # 925 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0965.html) have almost-identical titles?
(The) Bargain Hunter.
I tried studying those two comics to find any mystical link between them, but no. The appear to be otherwise unrelated.

However, the bargain I really was searching for, was Haley's bargain with the leather armor salesman (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0675.html) in Sandsedge. She managed to get her Lime green boots of Speed dyed to match her new desert outfit back then, to a light beige color (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0680.html).
However, after Haley boarded the Mechane and slipped into (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0959.html) Bandana's ex-gf's old armor, she apparently also swapped boots. Now she wears ordinary, dark-brown boots that resemble her old ones.

So, a few questions here:
1) Has Haley simply re-dyed her Boots of Speed (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#bootsofSpeed), so that they've now the same enchantment but are colored dark brown?
2) And if she's wearing these totally powerful (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0003.html) boots - how come we never (?) get to see their magic used? For instance in # 975 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0975.html), it might be of use for her to double her speed for some rounds, to get clear of Crystal.

Occasionally, two separate strips will share the same title; 333 - The Bright Side (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0333.html) (where Durkon is happy that he'll get to go home instead of being "eaten by some monster") and 877 - The Bright Side (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0877.html) (where Durkon is, in fact, eaten by some monster) come to mind for me.

Well I'll be d...ed...
Here I thought I spotted something out of the ordinary. *sigh*

But what about those Boots of Speed, then? Anyone ever seen Haley click her heels and speed off?

They're actually the spell "Haste".

They activate in 925, to allow her an extra attack. They turn lime green when activated.

(I got the title list from my Annotation of the Comic, and the haste from my spell compendium)

I assume she simply re-dyed them. Or heck, they could just be covered in dirt and stuff from wandering around in the desert, and she hasn't cleaned them.

Huh. And I even forgot about 925. Seems like I need to read the comic a bit closelier...

Anyway, it would be interesting to see if these boots are really re-dyed or what.
After all, it seems it wasn't "just to dye them" before, or else she would've done that already as a young girl, since they were so totally powerful (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0003.html).

Yeah, it would be interesting. Though its not like they were able to make stops between the comic break and now. This is the first town they've been able to supply at, so it stands to reason she's wearing her old boots atm. On the other hand, in 959 we don't see her boots with her desert outfit, so it could be the same boots recolored.

#428 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0428.html) and #609 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0609.html) were both named "It Takes a Thief" when #609 was uploaded, but a few hours later #609 was renamed to "It Takes TWO Thieves, Actually".

I like to believe that Rich's writing process was something like:
- Writing a joke about Haley not using a powerful item in #3 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0003.html) because of its color.
- Remember about it at some point and using it back in #608 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0608.html)
- Using it again in #675 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0675.html) while attributing some loots to the group (Elan got a belt of Charisma, Roy got a belt of Strength. Not sure the three others got something though.

Silly as it seems I'm of the opinion she went back to ordinary boots. Conservation of detail or some such... You don't get to make jokes like the boot colour without it biting you back at some point.

Also this has been brought up before. Just mentioning that.

Interestingly #628 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0428.html) is originally called "A Mother's Worst Nightmare", but within seconds changed into "Every Parent's Worst Nightmare".
