Feats are the most precious resource in character creation. Some DMs may even allow for items that grant feats (or "benefits of") to help qualify for other feats or PrCs. There are several lists floating around of items/locations/grafts that grant feats, but none of them are fully comprehensive. So, I've taken it upon myself to compile said lists, while also adding Dragon mag and other content.

Some notes about this list: Feat granting spells and artifacts are not included, and neither are temporary or use-limited feat granters (e.g. metamagic rods). Intelligent items have been excluded except where there is a specifically mentioned item. A&E custom feat item rules are also omitted. I do not distinguish regarding the wording of the items (i.e. grant feat vs grant benefit of feat, or any variation thereof), as it depends on the DM anyway whether this matters. I am confident that dragon mag has been thoroughly checked, but I could have missed something from an obscure book or web-article; so please feel free to let me know so I can add them. :smallsmile:

LATE EDIT: The matter of whether you can use "grant benefit of feat" type things to qualify for other feats, PrCs and such is addressed in several 3e books, namely the Epic Level Handbook and the Class-guide books. This rule was never overturned in the 3.5 update, so it should be valid. To quite it from Masters of the Wild p. 20:


If a character has a class feature or special ability that exactly duplicates the effects of a feat, then he or she can use that “virtual feat” as a prerequisite for other feats, as well as prestige classes, and so forth. [...] If the character ever loses the virtual prerequisite, he or she also loses access to any feats or other benefits acquired through its existence. For example, a ranger who wears armor heavier than light loses access to the virtual feats noted above, and thereby to Greater Two-Weapon Fighting as well. Acquiring a virtual feat does not give a character access to its prerequisites.

One of two ways to get Cerebrosis feat (Dr#330) is to visit a cerebrotic blot (400 gp on incense and herbs).

Interesting find, added both methods, although the fact that this feat can only be gained as a bonus feat by using this ritual, and that ritual does not actually require casting in and off itself, makes the feat's pre-requesites rather strange. Added either way :smallsmile:

Won't be adding Antheaneum, Boneyard or RIng of Silent Spells because of the daily limit. I did consider Metamagic storm despite the one-year duration since it grants the feat for cheap, but the lack of prerequesite meeting ability ruled it out for me.

Ring of Sandstriding is already added. Ring of Might won't be added because it only treats the wearer as armed when unarmed, as if they had improved unarmed strike, which doesn't quite meet the requirements for this list

Can't believe I forgot Goring horn though, has been added :smallsmile:

EDIT: Actually no. "For the purposes of these classes, the following class features can be selected in place of bonus feats", so Evasion is still a class feature, generic class feats simply allow one to get it by trading a feat. :smallsigh:

There are weapons that grant various feats. The ones I know of are: Battleaxe of the Bull, Breaking Blade, Disarming Flail, Sword of the Glorious Pearl, Staff of Mighty Sweeping, and Pearl Trident. But see below:

Create a bunch of poison rings (Dragon Compendium, touch attack deals 1 dmg, delivers poison it's loaded with) with several of those weapon enhancements that grant feats. Then start adding the ringsword enhancement (A&EG) to all of your other weapons (as well as those feat-granting weapon abilities) as well as the ioun blade enhancement (also A&EG) to add a dark blue rhomboid ioun stone, and wear these rings on them before DCFSing the feats out for other feats you want. AND you have the close fighting blade (RotW 166), which you can also add to all of your weapons, which can also have the ringblade property.

Remember that you can have:

2 rings (with an extra via the hand of glory)
1 weapon in each hand
4 on an elvencraft longbow with a bayonet or bow blade, but it's a 2-handed weapon
1 gauntlet on each hand
1 sleeve blade per arm (and can get two extra arms and hands for 1,000 gp via the warforged mighty arms graft)
2 knee blades (or more, if you're a quadruped/hexapod)
2 boot blades (again, more if you're a quadruped/hexapod)
1 braidblade
1 tail scythe/club if you spend resources on nabbing a tail or you have one naturally
1 for armor spikes
1 for an animated shield (shields count as weapons due to a shield bash)
1 for shield spikes
1 for the horned helm
1 for unarmed strike if you're a monk and spend 300 gp on character creation (as their bodies count as manufactured weapons, so they can be enhanced as such)
1 for a pair of bracers of striking
1 for a necklace of natural weapons
6 chronocharms (each of which you also have enhanced as a necklace of natural weapons, which dangle from your necklace of natural weapons)
And 1 close fighting blade for every weapon you've got.

Create the ones you can as morphing/sizing shurikens to make this easy. And for extra fun, make them Fine-sized to make them from riverine for 5 cp. Metalline will give you 95% of all the other types of weapon materials out there.

So all of those, plus poison rings for them all, and make sure to add the aforementioned dark blue rhomboid ioun stones to all of them.

Now you just need to find a way to DCFS them all out (use a thought bottle to make this easy), and enough feats that are actually worth taking.

I used crafting and mirror of opposition shenanigans to afford them all, but I managed over 2,100 feats without a single magical location by 20th level.

"Free" feats

Go to the List of Stuff (http://community.wizards.com/forum/previous-editions-character-optimization/threads/1068066) and search what you're looking for. For example, type in, "Bonus Feats."
Better yet, this thread (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=kasnkcbkjl77fihaigj7o36jd6&topic=4099.0) does a better job than I ever could.
From Complete Scoundrel, surviving the Otyugh Hole for a week gets you either Extend Rage, Iron Will, Menacing Demeanor or Skill Focus (Intimidate) as a bonus feat. Costs ya 3k gold. The Frog God's Fane gives you Skill Focus (History or Nature or Religion) for 2k gold. Heward's Hall gives you Skill Focus (Perform) or a Bardic feat for 5k gold. The Highest Spire gives Skill Focus (Climb) or Agile Athlete for 3k gold. Iron Wyrm Vault gives Nimble Fingers, Skill Focus (Disable Device, Hide, Move Silently, Open Lock, or Search), Stealthy, or Tactile Trapsmith for 3k gold. Excellent for meeting some PrC requirements.

Skin of the Construct (CPsi): Gain 1 Menu A ability, which includes Cleave, Improved Bull Rush, Improved Natural Attack, Mobility, or Power Attack. A feat for a feat or some other minor stuff, essentially.

Blessing of the Snake Mother spell (Ghostwalk) gives you Alertness feat - for 10 minutes/level (not a "benefits of Alertness feat" - feat itself, which can allow to qualify for some PrCs without taking mediocre feat)

Lingering Effects of Evil variant rule (Book of Vile Darkness): "Darkness Like the World Has Never Seen Before" gives Willing Deformity as a bonus feat.
