Just a quick question here from a forum newbie, does anyone know if there is a class, prestige or base class, that focuses on earning more gold? Like for example when rolling for gold treasure you add a few thousand to it? I'm curious.

If evil, Disciple of Mammon seems up your alley.

You could be an artificer with the feats that reduce the cost of the items you make but lie about not having them and keep the extra money your teammates, or anyone else, would pay you to make items.

I think the Eberron prestige class Thunder Guide does something like this. At two of the levels you get cash as a class feature, one as payment for your talking at universities about your exploits and another for royalties from your stories being printed in things like the Korranberg Chronicle.

Vassal of Bahamut, BoED gets some of Bahamut's hoard at 2,5 and 8th level. They get 100 X character level in PLATINUM at all three of those levels.

Merchant Prince does exactly this.

I know it is in one of the Faerun books, just not sure which.

Yep, that's the one.

I believe it also requires reference to the DMG II for profit modifiers and capital costs.
