Substitute for Darkvision ability when you already have it

Several prestige classes and templates grant Darkvision, but what do you do for characters who already have that ability? It seems trivial, but it often means you get nothing for an entire level if you're a dwarf or half-orc -- there's got to be some equivalent abilities.

Well, yeah obviously, but what abilities are in the equivalent power range? I'm trying to come up with suggested substitutes.

Some of the sources like this grant an extra 30ft onto existing darkvision if you already have it

Seconded, each source of dark vision should increase total range by up to 30 feet over the furthest range (give or take Darkvision gained below or above 30). If there's specifications for how they stack, follow those given numbers
