Ghost Stories

Hi, everyone,

I'm running the Carrion Crown adventure and we're about to start Ascanor lodge tonight. I was wondering if anyone had any cool ghost stories the NPC's could tell the PC's over dinner at the lodge to set the mood. Has anyone used stories told over dinner to set the mood before? Obviously they can't be too long.

How long are you looking for? The Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series--which is probably in the children's section of your local library--has very short stories, but it's all folklore, so if your players are into that sort of thing, they've probably heard it all before. On the other hand, there's a decent chance at least one of them was scarred by it as a kid.

Kris Struab's "The Stillwood King (http://ichor-falls.tumblr.com/post/92932003198/the-stillwood-king)" is a little longer (~850 words?) but it's very good and can easily be translated over to Pathfinder with a few name and date changes.
