Does any one else have this game? If so what do you think of it, any films you'd recomend watching for inspiration, to help with setting, etc? More importantly any one have any idea what their release schedule is for more books?

I presume you are talking about Qin: The Warring States (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=12302)? I'm afraid I don't know much about this product. Sounds interesting, though. Maybe try the Wikipedia Articles The Kingdom of Qin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Qin) and The Warring States Period (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warring_States_Period). This appears to be the company's only product and a cursory search does not reveal a Website for them.

I've found a website for them..... it looks lovely.... not that much use as there seems to be almost nothing on it. And Wiki is not being as helpful as it could be. I'm more looking for some films to get 'inspiration from' (not plagarise or anything like that at all... oh no!).

Could you link it, if it's not too much trouble?

I guess 'Hero' might be a reasonable film to think about. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Qin: Warring States is one of the most beautiful RPG books I've ever laid eyes on. It's stunning - it's like a coffee table book.

Unfortunately I haven't played it yet; it's on my list, but my list is long. I've read good things about it over at RPG.net (http://forum.rpg.net/)

Highly recommend seeing wuxia films. Easiest to get might be Hero, Crouching Tiger, and House of Flying Daggers. More are listed here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuxia).

I also recommend the movie "the Emperor and the Assassin", which talks about the famous attempt on his life by Qinke, an assassin from Yan. If you're looking for costume inspirations, that movie does a fantastic job. (Hero while cool, has more emphasis on stylistic visuals over historical accuracy)

There is also a computer game called Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom which does OKAY job as far as visuals go. (It does a bit of the oriental mysticism thing a little too much for my taste)
