a crazy combo I know. Many of the custom legacy items on the old boards have disintegrated. So I was wondering what this forum has to offer. What is your favorite item familiar + legacy item combo?

for me it's:

Handy Haversack:
improved Sense
Greater Sense

Least:
Comprehend Language
Faerie Fire
Protection from Evil
Sustenance
AC Bonus (wisdom)

Lesser:
Dimensional Anchor 1/day
initiative +5
Invisibility: at will
Shield: continous
See Invisibility

Greater:
Death Ward: continous
Freedom of Movement: Continous
Mind Blank: Continous

Just make sure it's called Bagman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_Trooper)!

Is there an open-source/freely available explanation of how Weapons of Legacy actually work? I have heard alternately that they're horribly broken or horribly underpowered, and I'm curious how they're built.

http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=485 this is the thread of how to build your own.

If you're not taking the intelligence ability so they can cast their own abilities on their own turn with their own actions, you are missing their full potential :smalltongue:

Edit: My own, based on a ring of Freedom of Movement

Abilities
5-6: Web 3/day
7: Magical Cipher (at will)
8-9: Mindlink (at will)
10: Unseen Servant (Continous)

11: Glitterdust (at will)
12: Haste (5/day, 1 round)
13: Greater Intelligent Item
14: +5 Init

15: Web 5/day
16: Never Flatfooted

17:Mind Blank
18:Spell Turning
19-20:Horrid Wilting

Glitterdust and Web basically at will, permanent telepathy, non-flatfooted, mindblank, and magical detection abilities, and good init and haste abilities.

As long as you pick your own abilities and dont use a premade weapon, they can be a pretty solid investment.

I had one once, wish I could find it, the item I used was a stronghold space so I could chain cast Familiar Form on my Item Familiar and literally become a small bit of forest. I think it was also an Ancestral Relic and I think I worked in the Staff Familiar in there too for its meager boni. It wasn't very powerful(except for the exorbitant health), but it was awesome.
