So the +2 property transmuting says after a hit , it will gain the properties needed to overcome the DR(s) of the creature.

What about DR5/-?

just as a transmuting weapon can overcome DR/slashing, piercing etc, can it overcome DR/ minus signs?

Does it gain the property "-" (whatever that is) so it can overcime it?

Is DR/- treated just like any other, as in, if you manage to some how get "-" as a damage type you can overcome it.
Just like if someone had DR5/ice cream....pretty much DR/everything but lookout for that Mr Whoopies truck.

DR/- means that nothing overcomes it. It is a "soak" number that you just have to hit harder.

So then the weapon gains the "nothing" property......?

Yes. If you hit something with DR/- with a transmuting weapon, the weapon turns to nothing at the moment of impact. Unfortunately, as the weapon disappears before dealing damage, the attack is rendered useless and the weapon is irretrievable.

Sweet.

Well, irretrievable for 10 rounds anyway.

No... The weapon is made of nothing now. It no longer has the magical property to change back. It is gone forever. This is what happens when you ask silly questions.

So you'd have created Oblivious?

Well, if the weapon no longer exists, then it doesn't have the ability to make itself not exist anymore so it comes back.

Grandfather paradox.

Well, no. The weapon isn't causing itself not to exist, it just isn't existing. It's like the grandfather paradox, but without the time travel. You did something in the past, and its effects continue into the future.

Also, I'm done here.

EDIT:
Well, done except for this edit:

So you'd have created Oblivious?
Lol. That's exactly what I thought the first time I read the thread.
