There's been no update/word (http://www.ruleofcool.com/) from the Devs since, like, September or October of last year. Is Legend really dead? Or should I hold out hope for that Monster Manual?

I believe Afroakuma and Lord Gareth on this forum had something to do with that project. Maybe not. Maybe try dropping them a PM in case they have info to share?

It's, uh, a bit of a tricky subject. I know that one group in the IRC believes it's dead, while the other group states it's on hiatus, and will have an update after life stuff goes by.

All I know is that I'm really bummed. It's still my favorite system ever. I'm actually currently running a campaign that's going fantastic, but it'd be great to have that monster manual to make things easier in planning.

There WAS a 1.1 update after that date, but the download is only on the forums. Some good changes there though.

It's technically not dead, but is currently halted as a result of real life getting in the way for a lot of people.

According to the devs in the Legend irc chat, "we only have one dude who knows what's going on, and he'll be in another continent for a couple weeks. He welcomes help, and if they have more questions, they can come by this week, but any other time they visit before the 30th will be met with confusion and non-sequiturs."

The irc chat is in #legend on foonetic ( irc://irc.foonetic.net/legend ). You'd need an irc client to hop into it, but there are a bunch. Mibbit (https://www.mibbit.com) is a decent basic browser-based one.
