Puzzle and Dragons 11: Romancing the Stone

Welcome to the Playground's TENTH(!) ELEVENTH(!!) iteration thread for the popular mobile app game, Puzzle & Dragons!

Here we gather to discuss, praise, complain about, and generally just natter on for this fun and addictive app game.

The first step is to point all new players to one of the beginners' guides.

The Beginner's Guide on the padWiki (http://pad.wikia.com/wiki/New_Players'_Guide) is one; I operate there, so give me a heads up if you're finding errors! It can lag behind the news at times, however.

What is Puzzle & Dragons?

A Free-to-Play match-three game with surprising depth! The puzzle occupies the lower half of the screen, and the combinations you form power your team on the upper half of the screen in battle. Part pokemon, part bejeweled, part M:tG, all crack, this game is easy to learn, difficult to master and very well put together. Unlike many games of this kind, it defies genre by going for both depth and complexity while maintaining ease of pick up.

What, seriously?

Yup! While at it's surface, the game is basically any other puzzle game ever, the math behind damage output, the dungeon design, the team composition component and metagame, and the uniquely free-wheeling capacity of the puzzle make Puzzle and Dragons a stand-out despite it's terrible app graphic. It has surprisingly deep and fulfilling long-term play (at the moment, I've been playing for over 600 days), and new content comes out regularly.

So what do I need to know to get started?


First, the game itself! PAD, P&D or puzzle and dragons should all be sufficient searches to download it. It operates on Android and iOS devices, with mixed results on running it elsewhere.
Second, the beginner's guides will help a lot. You start out with one fast freebie pull on the game's real lure, the Rare Egg Machine, and a good pull here can save you a lot of frustration and also make the game much more fun. It's suggested that after you run the game a bit and get comfortable playing it, you "reroll" by uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Then you run through the tutorial again and do the free pull again, repeating until you snag a keeper (http://guide.padherder.com/Reroll_Tier_List). This is not half as bad as it sounds; it's pretty brainless, and goes by pretty quickly. If you can time your re-rolling to line up with a biweekly Godfest, you can save yourself even more frustration!
Third, friends. Good friends with compatible Leader skills are critical. When you enter a dungeon, you can bring a friend's leader with you as a member of your team; their leader skill operates alongside your own. We have a lot of great, experienced players here, with a lot of solid leaders. We can carry you when your own leader can't. Managing your leader and picking the right friend's leader is a critical part of the metagame. The GitP list is at the bottom of this thread; feel free to send any of us requests. If you have something like "@GitP" in your username, we'll know you're from this forum, and will accept your friend requests more readily!
Fourth, be stingy with stones! Magic stones are the in-app-purchase (IAP) resource, and while you get them for free pretty quickly early on, and even more on a regular basis, you'll regret being too free with their use early on. The four rules of magic stones are (1) Never pull the gold dragon Rare Egg Machine outside of a godfest; (2) You should have two monster boxes for every rank you have, and spending stones to Increase Capacity is almost never a bad idea; (3) It's generally not worth a stone to continue in a dungeon or refill your stamina until you have at least 100 stamina, and (4) No, really, don't pull the REM outside of a godfest, seriously.


As a closing note, Puzzle & Dragons is an immensely popular game, and there are a ton of fan-run sites for information. Most of them stay fairly up-to-date, so just go with what you prefer.

The PAD Wikia (http://pad.wikia.com) is volunteer-run, and can get out-of-date, but I think it has the friendliest format for finding information. It also has a ton of great guides and advice.
PuzzleDragonX (http://www.puzzledragonx.com) is generally the best-updated site out there, with the most current news and most complete data. It's the community's go-to resource for data, but doesn't have much in the way of advice.
PADHerder (https://www.padherder.com/) is a tool to track and manage your monster box, with some neat automated ways to update. It also has some good information pages.
PADGuide (Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dnt7.padguide&hl=en) / iPhone (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/padguide-all-about-puzzle/id651949209?mt=8)) is an awesome app which keeps very current with all data and can even alert you to Urgent! dungeons. (HIGHLY recommended; I can't live without it.)
The Puzzle and Dragons Forum (http://www.puzzleanddragonsforum.com/) is dedicated to PAD and has some pretty good (and some very old) guides.
The PAD Global (https://www.facebook.com/groups/PADGlobal/) Facebook group is for talking about PAD stuff on ... well, Facebook. It's a solid way to get more compatible friends, too, but it's not always nice to newbies.

Personally, I have been doing mechdragon runs. I've been working on skilling up Canopus, and it's not unheard of to get multiple + per run. King of the gods is best if you can do it, though, particularly on weekends.

If you are under rank 300, KoG/KoG+ is the best for effective stamina (aka taking into account rankups). KoG+ meaning the coin dungeons which have similar or higher rank/stam - they are harder but give pees.
After that, in terms of +/stam, Forbidden Tower Door of LS>Tier 3 Techs> Blazing Fire>Mechs.
Assuming you can sweep every floor without thinking time, +/time spent playing is exactly the reverse. Mechs>Blazing>TT3>FT4>KoG.

I farm FT4 because I have the second fastest team in the game for clearing it. Also I don't have to look at the screen for 45 out of the 50 seconds I need per run.

Yeah if you don't have a fever I wouldn't suspect the Flu. Make sure you're keeping a close eye on it though, if you develop any flu-like symptoms (fever and muscle aches being the big two), take some Tamiflu (or another similar OTC antiviral). If you take it proactively enough, it should help curb the course of the virus.

Yeah, with the change to XQ's LS, I just don't see much benefit in going with her over DQ. I tried putting together a light-heavy healer team that maintained colour coverage, and it seemed like it'd probably be a downgrade. Losing water coverage (and water sub, for U&Y) is about the only problem, but I think the bind clear and skill lock resist make up for it, especially since L/L means she won't get hit by the water binds that'd be most problematic.

No rolls for me this weekend. Phone account's done rolling for a long time, probably (spending all my stones on Awoken Ceres and preparing for Awoken Parvati), and tablet account's saving for new angels.

The official Facebook announcement actually said that anyone who already used their snow globe before the XP upgrade will get a replacement. If we're lucky, we all get one. But it may be targeted compensation.

I personally grabbed Seiryuu. Not on purpose; Genbu was a choice as well (because I need three of them for Parvati :smallsigh:) but I got Seiryuu before Genbu so *shrug*.

Oh yeah, Orochi is maxed out. That Mask dungeon was so easy I didn't want to bother at all, and I just got him skilled up the old fashioned way. :smallsmile:

But yes, I use them for whatever's important. Leilan got a few of my Flampys (until I started skilling up Awoken Hino) and Ceres #2 (G/D) has been getting my greenpys. Badpys were going to Batman but are now going to Awoken Hades. (Shynypys went to Hello Kitty because I actually use her and lol.) The problem is, Aquaman was the only blue-main monster who sees regular use on any of my teams. Karin may be next; I dunno yet. She's as good a candidate as any, I suppose!

e: This also means that my 2nd Venus - candidate for Awoken Venus - will probably get my Noel Bleu. :smallbiggrin: I don't really want to feed him to Starling, you know?

Well, it's currently U&Y/GZL/Apollo/Echidna, but I was working toward Apollo/Athena/Thoth/[something] to try and get more damage. Granted, DQ would mean I'd need water to fill the hole, which with my currently available subs would be Sandy (not skilled or leveled at all, but gets the light row), mini-SQ or U&Y... seems less useful the more I look at it.

I mean, I guess I could just stop trying to build the light focus. Leave light to Athena, go XQ//U&Y/mini-SQ/Dill/Echi or something. But neither team looks likely to end up as anything special, so it might be best to just decide based on which makes a better U&Y sub, and I think DQ's extra awakenings win out over XQ's base damage.

I want to Evo Homura, get that two prong up in here. Enhanced fire orbs too. Yinping Evo takes her out of Gaia range unfortunately...

So with parrot//Flammesickle as leads, we have;

1 • Echidna, echidna, Gigas, Gigas
2 • echidna, echidna, Gigas, Homura
3 • echidna, echidna, Homura, Yinping
4 • echidna, echidna, Gigas, Yinping

Gonna keep both echidnas. One is max skill and the ther is fresh as a daisy, but I should be able to, early enough, start dropping staggered menace. Fafnir should get max skill echidna, slow echidna, and max skill echidna again giving me an extra nine rounds on top of his normal to bring him down. They also give me enough RCV in conjunction with parrot to be useful.

Flammesickle's skyfall skill (if it's as effective as bosses doing the same) should get me enough skyfall boost to start breaking defense. Especially if I bring either Yinping or awoken Homura (enhanced orbs or two prong should cover the damage needed).

Orb shift sucking away green, heal, and water gives me lots of attack options. I just need to survive long enough for them to become relevant. Maybe I should slot agdrall in? He would replace an echidna though so likely no.

What team did you use? Looking at taking on the dungeon myself.
Prong-heavy on offense with utility subs. Kind of Whaley, too. My subs were Awoken Kagu, Awoken Ceres, Ult Beelzebub, and Dark Kali. Ceres for binds and panic heal, Beelz for offense and panic heal, Kagu for offense and burst, and Kali for orb-unscrewing. It worked quite well, overall.

Threedia is the toughest bit. Charge everything up.

I'm saving some exp, got a green and a red snow globe dragon that I haven't spent yet. I'll be getting the blue one from the challenge dungeon as well. I generally aim to get the stuff in my box to the highest evo level they're going to be used at, and then leave them in case I make a team for them.

When I have everything I need for Goemon, I'll probably give him the red globe dragon; the green might go to Canopus, but probably not since I've not been impressed with my tweaks to that team. The blue might end up with something from the Blonia team I've been working on, I intend to get that team fully awoken and into the 50's before deciding. I think the 6.25x multiplier just isn't doing it for me any more...

In other news, I evolved the last two Draggies from the last time that descend came around. I'm now 2/4 on the green spiky blob, 19 turn cool down. 8 more to go I think?

Maxed my Chiyome, and my 2nd Chiyome is SL2. Probably use the 2nd one for low cost dungeons. 17 Red Fairies saved up for Yamato so far.

Also, I noticed that the slime knight series are awesome as low cost leaders. Nim esp... He beats Asuka and can be paired with Asuka. But it seems like such a waste not evolve him though. DAMN YOU GAIA!

1 obligatory godfest roll: My second Bearded Deity Guan yu. Even though it was gold, I just didn't have it in me to waste more stones on a godfest I have very little interest in(A yomi is the only thing I'd be interested in from this).

So, apparently my Electrolyte levels were terribly low, I was suffering from what apparently was heart palpitations today, I was very light-headed, blood pressure was way high(140/95) and my pulse was 106. Wife who is a nurse did some quick research and apparently it's a not uncommon thing to occur when someone is suffering food poisoning, so she went to the store and bought some bananas, potato chips and Gatorade and made me eat some and drink the whole gatorade(32 oz, yeesh). It worked though, within an hour I was starting to feel better. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day, I'm so flipping tired of feeling like crap. Not to mention I've barely touched any of the tablet games I play since Tuesday because I Just haven't had the energy.

Taco Bell, you shall not receive my business for at least 2 months for this!(We've narrowed the possible culprit to the A.M. Bacon Crunchwrap I had Tuesday morning when we were grocery shopping, it's the ONLY thing that I've eaten that no-one else has, everything else I consumed between Saturday and Tuesday everyone else in the house has as well). Honestly, they are lucky, I haven't eaten at Roy Rogers since I was 13 because of the SEVERE case of food poisoning I had from eating a piece of chicken that I didn't notice was virtually raw in the middle. Was in the hospital for that one, crapping blood and vomiting profusely. I barely ate anything for 2 weeks and not much more then the minimum for 2 weeks after that.

I think the worst thing this time besides the Heart Palpitations today has been the EXTREME heart-burn(apparently another not that uncommon symptom of food poisoning). I've actually been starting to wonder if it's possible to end up with Calcium Carbonate poisoning because I've gone through about 60 Tums tablets in the last 3 days, maybe more ><

So, he no longer has a place on my blue Physical team, unless I take him back to his other form and waste that jewel. I'm thinking that what I may do is turn the team inside-out; run it as Blodin//Blonia/Orochi/Leviathan/Muse//Blodin. Something about that doesn't sit right with me, though; I feel like I need another orb changer on there. Also, Blonia and Levi are left out of Muse's slime burst; I'm thinking that dropping Levi for a Water primary, God type orb changer might be a good idea. Anyone have suggestions? I did end up doing a bunch of REM rolling in a moment of weakness, and got Andromeda.. Reine or Hermes would be ideal, if I had them...

Alternatively, anyone have a good idea of what kind of team I could use Dragon/God Orochi on? Or should I waste the jewel and take him back to the Dragon/Physical Uvo, deal with the loss of one skill up (still have 11, or 10 once I get Creuse), and run my planned Blonia physical team?

I love my dragons! I've actually considered looking at options to run him as a lead, but there aren't a whole lot of water/fire dragons out there. Folklore, Blast Aurora, Red Ice Leviathan, and Mithril Edge. Nothing great. If I extend it to just anything Water-main and dragon type, but limit it to stuff with TPA, then I get Pirate Zaerog (Dragon boost, small gravity), Starling (... huh...) Beyzul (nah), Sun Quan (don't have), Water Dragon Knight (don't have, but he'd be a nice sub...) and Leviathan. Also Plesios, when we get ult starters. Hmmm...

B/R Orochi//Starling/Plesios/Leviathan/Water Knight/BR Orochi? Well. Amusing thought, but I think it'd be smarter to drop Levi for a second Starling to run heavy B/G. And also, no one runs B/R Orochi as a leader. I'll just keep thinking about what teams B/R Orochi fits well on as a sub, I think. Probably have to lean heavily on his God typing rather than Dragon to make him work. He really was more useful to me as a God/Physical, even with the one fewer skill boost. Hell, even his typing fit better onto the team.

In other news, Kali is up to +99, and tomorrow I intend to get a light globe dragon to max level Fuma with. Another 1.5k HP on the team won't hurt at all. I've also started strongly considering getting a hyper maxed Ronia, not to use, but to put in team 1 spot. My girlfriend's got hers over +200 now and it brings her 400-500 pal points a day. Kali and my +297 Gronia are only getting me 50-100. Think I need to add more Kali/Gronia friends..

Prime sub for Sonia Grand. Covers 2 colors and a major delay for that team if you're not running Sun Quans. Besides that, his 2x TPA also make him a good sub for things like LKali and Kirin. You don't necessarily need to bring slims when you have TPA focused team. I feel like Rows and TPA and like built in slim bursts if you're skilled enough. Of course, with the exception of Anubis, which CANNOT USE TPA OR ROWS, but who cares when you're already doing 100x =).

Odd question and kinda noob. But where the hell can I farm Mystic Ice Knight? I haven't seen coin dungeons for it yet like all the other mystic knights. Hera Descend looks easy enough, but that's 50 stam per chance of getting it... I need it to complete my Sara team.... Weird eh? Looks like I'm going to grind lots of Water Insect Dragon next round of coin dungeon... And some light ones too for my Indra and Rei Sirius. Maybe not so much for Rei Sirius lol....

Yeah it's probably one of the dragon dungeons, or you could wait for the castle of satan events that happened like...twice so far. If you need it urgently, the Uvo method might be competitive - 3 mil exp + evo mats is like 4 stones, and no pain of dozens of runs without drops.

I'm starting to think that throwing + on WW was a rash decision. Probably would have gotten more use of them if they were on Verche...

You don't necessarily need to bring slims when you have TPA focused team. I feel like Rows and TPA and like built in slim bursts if you're skilled enough. Of course, with the exception of Anubis, which CANNOT USE TPA OR ROWS, but who cares when you're already doing 100x =).

Odd question and kinda noob. But where the hell can I farm Mystic Ice Knight? I haven't seen coin dungeons for it yet like all the other mystic knights. Hera Descend looks easy enough, but that's 50 stam per chance of getting it... I need it to complete my Sara team.... Weird eh? Looks like I'm going to grind lots of Water Insect Dragon next round of coin dungeon... And some light ones too for my Indra and Rei Sirius. Maybe not so much for Rei Sirius lol....

One day I will aim to not need slime bursts; today is not that day. But that is a consideration; I always tend to think in terms of a mono-main color with subs covering my rainbow for color activation, because I like those power hits. That's how I have Kali set up. Random floors are easy to wipe with any attack activation, when running color match leads of that calibre.

Mystic Ice Knight - you can get that (extremely rarely) from the blue round of Legendary Dragon's Footprints. I think back when I was running that for the red knight, it took me ten to fifteen runs to get one drop? I could have sworn they had its survey as a coin dungeon a couple rotations ago... other than that, Hera might be a more reliable place.


Who has a Flammesickle insect dragon at high level? Or Parrot the red sprite? Or an unevolved wangren? I'm gonna use you guys on Tuesday.

I am strongly considering getting and skilling up Flammesickle from coin dungeon rotation 10, actually. If I'm insane enough, maybe two of them, but there's a good chance that I'll be sick of it after max skilling one of them. I do have a Parrot, low level though. Unfortunately my one run of Legendary Seaway (total success, you guys!) got me Beyzul, not Wangren.

Out of 20-25 runs of top level of Hill of Iris's Rainbow (trying to get dub-mythlits, managed to obtain a grand total of 2) so far, I think I got about 10 +s. Since quite a lot of drops are pengdra anyway (managed to burn my stash of 18 dragon plants evolving pengdra, and still have about 20 each of the red and blue pengdra ready to evolve), I would say they odds of dropping + eggs is quite reasonable.

Edit: Quick ballpark maths time: 20 runs means 160 floors with potential drops. Assuming something drops 90% of the time, that means 144 drops. Of these 144, there we 2 dub-mythlits, and ~50 pengdra (still had some leftover from pengdra village a few days ago). That leads to 92 drops which could have had plusses. I managed to get 10 +'s, so the chances for a + egg to drop for me have been ~11, or let's say approximately one in ten given the uncertainty in some of the values (or, approximately 1 + per 35 stamina). Sounds increased to me? :)

I've gotten an average of 2.5 +eggs a run, and I've been runnig ancient dragon for the last three days. Metatron is almost maxed now even. Just two or three RCV, 9 attack to go.

You're in luck! That's the only mon in the entire dungeon that doesn't need to be evo'd to skill up. I mean, evo'd versions of the others drop on miniboss floors (and don't even get me started on the boss' wonky double-duty skillup), but at least the little chocolate shock box drops in ready-to-go form.

That means skyfalls. Sky falls means less chance of getting screwed by accidentally combining combos and missing the 4 combo minimum with parrot. He also has awoken skills!

Also, I just want to say : I spent two stones on stamina today for Wind Mechdragon. I've lost count of how many runs I did, but I know it was over 20, because I went 1/21 on skill ups on Brachys from those chimeras just now, and I know I fed off a few later. I do have Canopus 2 skills from max level, so there's that. I meant to do Takeminekata tonight, but didn't bother, just got into the flow of Canopus over and over. I've also picked up enough fodder to raise Robin from 5 to 50, and get something like 8 or 9 green chasers (byproduct of farming Kodama for Sasuke, I have 16 of them and no Meimei) to max level as well, at 5-7 fodder monsters per chaser. Also managed to get around 30 or so plus eggs, which have been added to Kali. +129 now, leaning heavily away from Attack. 46/31/52. Still have my +9 Tamadra, think I'm going to start saving those and use them to awaken things I want to hypermax. Like if I ever get a second Kali.

Has anyone else noticed the EXTREME time shift for the daily dungeons lately? I have not had a dungeon appear later then 10pm for like two weeks now I do believe. Most of them are between 6pm and 9pm with maybe one at 10pm the other day. Really sucks, because honestly I'm just not near a tablet at those times due to my sleeping schedule advancing ever forward(I now seem to go to bed around 10-11a.m instead of 6-7 like I used to, and I get up around 7pm). Not to mention I just don't tend to touch my tablet until later at night anyways when the girls are asleep and my wife is watching one of her shows.

Also, finally, on my 7th attempt I finally get my damn Light Dragon!

Didn't get as many ranks as I expected while I was in Virginia, I was expecting to pour all kinds of stamina into KoG and I just kept getting distracted and orbing before thinking - when you're OHKO'ed by CDD and Zeus in KoG, this leads to bad things. I'd probably be three or four more ranks ahead if I hadn't wasted those runs and then blown the remaining stamina doing ridiculous things. I also blew about 600 stamina into the Hera-Ur challenge dungeon over that week because I was convinced I should be able to take it; apparently not. :smalltongue:

Maxed my Chiyome, and my 2nd Chiyome is SL2. Probably use the 2nd one for low cost dungeons. 17 Red Fairies saved up for Yamato so far.

Also have about a dozen of red fairies saved up, but I have no box space and I need the dark ones for Pandora so I may need to feed them off to make room and hope to get more later. I've been salting away my snowglobes so I'm glad the increase in XP finally dropped. Only fed off one of the light ones so far, and thankfully got a great (fed it to my LKali, so she's now at lvl 97, max awoken and max skilled). I've got a couple more of the light ones (and have one more sitting in my mailbox from back during the first Challenge Dungeon series), and have been trying to figure out who to feed them to. Maybe Superman and Supergirl so I can try teams using them?

I'm going through the same thing now with Challenge Dungeon 7. It's driving me freaking insane. I KNOW I can do it but I keep flubbing, and there's not much room for error. The worst was getting all the way to Thoth and Sopdet and messing up the heals. Didn't heal enough to survive the next hit. I threw my phone. lol I'll try again eventually but that really pissed me off. Totally avoidable death.

Oh, I did pull during the Godfest. My first pull was a silver (don't even remember what it was), so I pulled again. Got ANOTHER silver and I immediately rage pulled. Got my first Norn, Urd. Well, you're a mere 10 ranks behind me and I've played for 100 more days than you (albeit with 10 minute stamina). Should be past me in a couple weeks if I don't speed it up.

That ten minute stamina, and my steady stoning, really does make the difference. I've also farmed rank pretty hard, first to accomodate Gronia + 4 rippers, then for various benchmarks. 100 stamina to make it so I can not waste regen overnight, 120 to do three runs of 40-stamina skill up dungeons, 150 for three runs of 50 stam dungeons. Now my goal is 200, to make it worthwhile to do another Tamadra Village run, get two runs out of each stone. I think a couple weeks is not unreasonable for me to catch up ten ranks, if you aren't pushing for rank at all.

Of course, as has been pointed out previously, every point of stamina I spent farming rank was a point not spent on gaining skill up material, etc. That's where the majority of my stones go, barring bad REM decisions.

Homura has the advantage of being an awoken monster. Same with Flammesickle. Sounds silly, but two Homura, two Flammesickle, and two echidna is a 4+ boost to all enhance orbs, which is 80% of them, and a 50% boost for your prime damage dealers. Two four orb combos does some damage, there.

Wow, that's impressive. How much stamina did that take? And if that's the second highest, what's the highest? I'm assuming this is in the regular Aither, not Alt. Aither...

Also, what's the point where you become considered a high ranker? I'm north of 275 rank 279 right now, and will hit 280 today, but that's still leaving me quite a ways from my goal of having 200 stamina.

High ranker in a stamina efficiency perspective depends on which dungeons being compared. In general, low ranks will want dungeons with high rank/exp and decent gathering rates, and high ranks will go straight for high gathering rates without caring about rank. For most dungeons the cutoff is between 250 and 350.

My other definition of high rank is 100 more than me. No direct gameplay impact, but I'm more lenient on deleting high rankers since they probably have good stuff.

(I tried to do it the easy way and look for existing teams but found none. :P) I went in with your favorite team (Ronia haha), and at first tried it with my "new" default lineup of Ronia//Ronia and Ronia/ACeres/DQ Hera-Ur/Lu Bu. After failing a couple of times I swapped out DQ Hera-Ur and put in Shiva, as I'm figuring he'd be perfect against Ra and it's easy to stall for him during Thoth and Sopdet (well, it SHOULD have been if I healed properly :smallannoyed: and I would have been done with this by now). Also early on I kept making the mistake of using Ronia first then ACeres, leaving me with a full board of red and not doing much for me. So now I do ACeres first for the armor reduction then hit Ronia. blah blah blah Sorry, I'll stop with the boring play by play. Anyway, I now finally have the strat down and it's a matter of me not being stupid. (I'm sure I probably have a way more efficient team in my box for this challenge than what I'm using, but it's what I know. lol)

Yeah, the big draw for me with Gaia is getting my Hades evolved as well. I suspect I could manage to beat Gaia on Legend with my Draggie team, if I really pushed hard, but realistically I don't have plans to use Hades yet. Also I flip flop a lot because I use a dark team for Draggie these days, the extra HP from running D/D Batman gives me a much-needed safety net. I'm also strongly considering a high level of "screw this" with Draggie and spending my woodpy on him, but GZL is hard competition on that front.

This is what I'm trying to focus on, instead of rolling REM trying to get specific things. It drives me up the wall because of my collection obsession sometimes, but I think it would be much more fun to work with what's in my box. Plus, that's how I produced my Kali team, which is my highest-consistent-damage team, and also my secondary pride. My first love is my dragons, which is why I'm so sad they can't keep up with devils. Unless I ditch Gronia as a lead, I guess.

I'll let you in on a secret. I didn't do it all in a day :P

It is, because early on your stones go to REM/space, and for a nonIAP you're going to playing inefficiently without them. Every time you toss something to find out you need it later, you've just went behind X about of stamina. 75 stam for a dublit/mask is a good half stone, even at a decent rank.

REM waste seriously. I was Rank 306 at 310 days (the 10 min stam cutoff), which would be about the equivalent of where you are now (137 days at 5min, 32 at 10 min =~ 306 days at 10 min) I did have WAY less gods though :smalltongue: But 3 +297s...:smallamused:

LOL Need to retool then. I was keeping my Darkseid unevo'd for low cost dungeons, but I wonder if I should evo him now and stick him in the team. Are there any other devils with that type of active?

Haha I also failed Fagan a few times after a few glasses of wine....

I simplify my big stamina stuff by just saying Seaway and Fagan, but in all seriousness I've hardly run normals at all since hitting 267. I've been doing a lot of descends, some supers, a lot of failing wadatsumi for a week, and just taking it easy while I wrote my thesis. Although that is submitted now so I should be getting back into efficient play soon.

Granted, I haven't played the game seriously in over 6 months(maybe longer), all I do is log-on, collect daily rewards/stones in the mail, do whatever weekly/biweekly/collab dungeon is around if I haven't finished it already, and maybe do Super Dragons, but yeah, nothing like most of you. I pretty much stopped focusing on rank right I had over 100 stamina, it's enough to suit my purposes, as I've already mentioned I don't play enough for it to matter. Not to mention repetitive grinding of the same dungeons(Honestly, I just don't understand how Jasmine can run KoG as much as she does, I'd go insane) for rank-ups/+eggs isn't my idea of fun. I'm more casual then hardcore player nowadays really.

I just burnt two stones in Flame Insect Dragon, and walked away with a grand total of 12 pengdra, some fodder, and +1 skill for Brachys. Nothing for Guan Yu (only one drop for him, actually), and nothing for Flammesickle. Wow. That's just kind of depressing. Set up 54k exp from rank 281 though, so it'll be easy for me to do a couple KoG runs in the morning, and then burn all of my stamina either on Super Metals, or King Carnival. Not sure which I'll go for, both have good points. I'd love to finally finish max leveling my devils, be able to survive CDD hits in KoG when I'm at full HP with lesser-+'ed Ronia friends, but Carnival is so much more broad in its appeal. Anyone know how they match up for exp gained per stamina?

I'm actually really surprised that such an early monster wasn't maxed way earlier. That might be a big part of why you're 'behind'. 10% of stats doesn't sound like much, but some food for thought is that you rank up 60% faster with 100% success rate of KoG as opposed to a 90% success rate at rank 250.

You are severely overestimating how much time I put into the game. Most of the weeklies/bi-weeklies/collabs are repeats, so I do Supers when they are around and that is it. I am literally on for less then 5 minutes a day nowadays, and that has been my pattern for as I said, 6 months or more. There is a reason why people who started at the same time as me are at least 40 ranks higher then me(SiuiS is in the 260's and she started about a month and a half after me). My Rank Exp goes up slower then molasses, often-times being a week or more before I rank up. I'm not just casual, I'm ultra-casual.

Come to think of it, I haven't touched a descend in god knows when, I've completed all the ones I can. I haven't even set foot in a solid half or more of the newer ones because of the restrictions they put on them. The last set of Challenges may be the most active I've been since I was trying to build a team to complete Hera-Is.

I might actually hold onto a few fire-type dragons that are 14 cost and under and level them up if I come across any, Exa-Hydras leader skill is fairly ideal for a dungeon like that, 2x HP/2x Attack for dragons. If I could get a few other dragons like him with his stats(1500 HP, 750 attack) it could be quite doable. Just wipe out that stupid dragon plant on first floor then stall on the mushrooms, leave one slot on your team for an Ogre that has the "Massive Fire damage to a Wood type" and take out all the trees in a single go in round 2. Exa-Hydra comes with a 5 turn delay which would be ideal on Fafnir, and with a friend leader Exa, you can use theirs on Gaia herself to wait out that annoying Fire Absorb, all the while stockpiling fire orbs and getting rid of useless ones in preparation of a massive hit the moment it's gone.

If you have draggie(not sure if he's <14 cost, I've never looked), not sure if he would be worth sacrificing another fire-based dragon for, in order to make that massive hit even bigger, but it could be something to think about.

Best of all, Exa-Hydra only requires 265k exp to max in his baby form, and again, the stats aren't bad at all(1586, 775, 78) with a 5 turn delay that you could skill-up if you can take on Mythical Masks on Wednesday. If only it was the green mask, I have 6 of them and I'd throw all 6 at him in a heart beat.

Edit: Oooh, I apparently have Flame Insect Dragon, who has even better stats(1728/1335/244). I also have a Phoenix Knight, whom I could level and evolve into Phoenix Knight Homura who also has good stats. Now I Just need 1 more and I'm set!

Double Edit: I might just farm a second Phoenix Knight Homura since his dungeon is in Coin Rotation right now). I could have the whole team ready easily by the time Gaia comes back around again. And forget that, apparently PHoenix Knight is not a Dragon Type like Zeal and Voice were :-(. Le'sigh, back to the drawing board!

So apparently I have Fire Dragon Swordsman in my box, whom can be evolved and still fit the cost and has flipping awesome stats(2188/1308/281) as well as a TPA, bind immune and a Skill Boost. So, now I Just need 1 again. Maybe I'll just buy Fire Insect dragon dungeon from the coin rotation and get a second one.

@Starwulf - I like the way you think! Dragons for everyone! The thing you'd have to watch for is your recovery; you can have scads of HP, but if you get hit, that HP isn't coming back any time soon. So stalling to get Exa-Hydra's skill up is going to be a little tricky. That said, if you can get him up for Fafnir and Gaia, that would go a long way to making both of them much easier. And I like that there's a use for Fire Dragon Knight in there! You've actually got me thinking about this now, though I'm a little pouty about the fact that I already evo'ed my Exa-Hydra just because I tend to evo everything I don't have specific low level plans for. On the Draggie front, I'm not sure he'd be worth it; you'd have to bring him as Draggie Knight (second form), which is 7 cost, and stats are 526/321/0. Still, the 2.5x damage spike on Gaia and the 1-turn delay would be very nice.

I'm actually really surprised that such an early monster wasn't maxed way earlier. That might be a big part of why you're 'behind'. 10% of stats doesn't sound like much, but some food for thought is that you rank up 60% faster with 100% success rate of KoG as opposed to a 90% success rate at rank 250.

Well my primary team (Leilan) is averaging mid nineties for levels. Bonia is my sort of backup team, and until yesterday was averaging mid fifties. Still, ~1100HP and ~500 atk is nothing to just discount.

Not sure what I'll use for blue/dark on that team... we shall see. But I'm willing to bet that 25x damage is going to help a lot against Draggie and Gaia!

AHades is decent, but Poison/Slime/Bindimmune is a better kit than Extendtime/Grav/TPA for most situations. However, in your case, a couple of your devil subs could easily be pulled over onto an AHades team, or take AHades on your Ronia team as defense breaker. You could probably break Ra defense without Lubu if you made TPAs instead of rows.

Yeah, I've considered that. I did that with the last one, fed it off to Kali, but that also meant pre-awakening for her new ult. Could be a great chance to get a Gold Keeper or Angelit or spirit jewel ^^

I think with that much orb changing, you're fine losing Ronia. Ifrit would bring a small damage boost active, as well - gets you from 36x to 46.8 (and ten red rowhance!). I can't imagine that they intend to make his skill fifteen fresh levels..

And unlike Jasmine, I didn't have him skilled up at all so it won't hurt at all to ultimate him. Of course if I had I would probably just pick up and level a new one instead of loosing all those skill levels.

I'd look at using either Shaitan or Phoenix in place of Ronia, then - aim to match up skill cooldowns against Goemon's active. Neither gets the extra mini-boost, but if you go Shaitan, then you have the same seven skill boosts, plus nine (!) row enhance and eight orb enhance. That's a straight 40% boost in damage on any combo involving enhanced fire orbs, and every fire orb drops enhanced. Assuming you can ult Goemon, of course. :smalltongue:

I don't have much for that team, Yomata needs levels, ultimate, awoken, and skills as does dino rider drake. Gigas I still haven't even got to final evo yet. Have GGY but that doesn't match colors here.

The tablet (or was the tablet, GF has the account now) is better off, it has Freyr, Uriel, RGY, RSonia. Don't remember if it has Yomata yet, and I know Gigas and Goemon are both not to final evo yet, but is has a lot of solid options just the way it is.

Probably a use for Red Riding Hood too.

9x-36x toggle is pretty awesome, especially for preempts/new players/ 80% players. Also faster red morningstar for those still playing the snail game.

This is the exact information I was waiting for. I'm glad that it isn't "You must be at 1 HP for full boost"; having that 2.5x is at least something for when you pop up above the 20% margin and need to safely snipe one or two targets so you can survive the hit back into 20% range. Very nice. Makes RGY a more reasonable possibility on a Goemon team, perhaps? Also, wow, 200k to all enemies is nothing to turn your nose up at. And I'm VERY glad to hear that it's only 5 skill ups.

AHades is decent, but Poison/Slime/Bindimmune is a better kit than Extendtime/Grav/TPA for most situations. However, in your case, a couple of your devil subs could easily be pulled over onto an AHades team, or take AHades on your Ronia team as defense breaker. You could probably break Ra defense without Lubu if you made TPAs instead of rows.

Kauai/Aca/Whales, you're in luck. Goemon/4x Ronias is 10 skill boosts, 8 red rows, and forever to move. 22544 hp, 1094 RCV (swap one for a Gigas to go to 25.5k HP/450RCV) 10218 attack means 6.7 million on a 2 red row Ronia board, 13.1 mil on a 3 row Ronia board, and 6 mil on a Goemon board (assuming 1 red orb is enhanced)

This is with a max level, unplussed team.

Wow, this is intriguing. I would have to leave out my hypermaxed Ronia tho due to the RCV. I messed up my current Goemon as when I did a run he dropped with a plus. I didn't bother checking what the plus was on and I fed him for the skillup, and only afterwards did I realize I added a +RCV. :smallmad: I should probably start him all over due to that screwup.

But ugh, the thought of trying to skill up a total of 4 uvo-d Ronias for that team...bleh. Actually, just even pulling off that many uvos will take some time. lol


I tend to just use the +9 tamadra as fodder for the plusses rather than for the awakening: all the monsters I use are already fully awakened, and I still have at least 20 regular tamadra sitting in my mailbox anyway (between the free handouts, S-ranking and occasional baby tama drop I tend to get more Tamadra than I manage to use anyway)

I've been contemplating doing that as well. I don't have the spare Tamadra tho (I need a ton more). But I'm thinking that if it will make one of those other uvo'd monsters usable, I may as well maximize it.

For those needing specific rare evo materials, there is going to be an "Evo Mat Carnival" in 7 1/2 days, 500 pal points per pull, and besides a red spirit/mask/ruby dublit/bigger mask, it's pretty much all rare evo mats from the looks of it. Could be a great chance to get a Gold Keeper or Angelit or spirit jewel ^^

You dirty rotten... lol I've only gotten 2 skillups on him so far. Also only managed to snag 9 dark faeries; with the skillup luck I've been having I'd be surprised if I even get one. At least I did manage to max skill one Fuma tho, and got a second to sl 3. I just wish I'd get better luck on the primary monsters that I'm wanting to skill up. Pandora will be tremendously more useful for me once she gets skilled.

Toss the Ronia?! Blasphemy! LOL Nah, but I would be sad with her being hypermaxed and all. Taking both Haku and Persephone would be great as those are the next two cards that I have that have decent pluses (+81 or so for Haku, and +189 or so for Persephone; she's the second I plan to hypermax). Never considered Ceres for this team given her off color, but I can try it. I think I have a woodpy (is that the name? heh) sitting in my mailbox so at least I know where that's going.

Off a Ronia board, you're likely to have 3 (12 darks/18 red) or 4 (16 dark/14 red) available. That means 3 or 4 sets of matches. A 4 orb match is 25% stronger than 3 orb match. A 6 combo (3D/3R or 4D/2R) is 2.25x. Double TPA is 2.25x. Ronia+Lubu at 6 combo = 9x. Light element Ra means 2x damage, on your base 1860.

4*1.25*2.25*2.25*9*2*1860 = 847462.

Ok, so I lied - it'd be a tad shy of 900k. However, 2.5x from Lubu slime would easily take that to 2 mil, or 120 extra attack on AHades(24 attack plus), or a Beelz +orb enhance brings an extra 1.24 (enhanced orbs) * 1.15 (AHades, Beelz, Lubu +orb awakening) to 1.2mil. This is also assuming you had no skyfalls, and no +dark orbs after conversion. Having 2 +darks would take you over the threshold.

If you only have 3 sets of dark, you'll need the slime or the Beelz. (edit by Beelz I mean anyone with dark orb enhance, preferably with a +orb awakening too)

If you're making one, single, combo? Against a boss? You get what you deserve :P

Awoken Hades' TPA gives him a 2.25x multiplier. Let's say you make 2x4 dark, and 3x3 other combos.

That's 2.5 (total dark base damage) 2 (extra combos) 2.25 (double TPA). That means his base is effectively 4650, not 1860 (because base damage is the weird thing to calculate and why you get weirdness from different orb counts on combos), doubled is 9300, TPA activation makes that 20925, and then a standard leader skill (let's say beelz at 2.5 and Lubu at 2.5 for 6.25) gives you 130,000~ damage.

Everyone else on your team is doing only 58,000~ from the exact same combo if they also have 1860 damage.

Basically. You lose some base damage using a single TPA over rows, but that monster gets the benefit of four rows for one TPA. Do the math for a single row with row enhance and it'll be similarly low. It's when everyone on your team can do it that it's amazing!

Combine them even, because two low multipliers work out better than one high multiplier. Two TPA and four rows gives you both 1.4x and 2.25x, for a net 3.15x multiplier over the 2.8 you would get for using two rows.

I find that 2500 RCV is plenty with good orbing skills, and that's before you apply AHades' skill to the dungeon. Personally I'd run Beelz, because with either team you should be able to fill anywhere between half your HP to all of it with making matches.. but Beelz' active could mean the difference between life and death if there's no orbs on the board. Plus his offense fits better with that team.

::Edit:: Fax, thank you for the use of your Blonia. I'm working my way through the "Only ATT/no ATT" technicals right now, and greens were easy with my Dragons. Blue is looking to be a little more annoying, but between judicious use of Siegfried and pairing off Blonias and other physicals with sub-ATT, that dungeon became remarkably easy. The later floors with masks promise to be incredibly irritating, though.

I see Ancient Dragon's Mystic Realm available to me, but I don't know whether it's the Only/No Att dungeons I have to do, or the Mystic Realm to unlock those ones. King DeviTama is nifty for low cost stuff, I have him on my Draggie team for the gravity. He can also be useful for powering up coin drops in weekend dungeon, if that's your thing. ChibiDra is pure experience.

So, is anyone planning on rolling on this weapon carnival? It's really tempting for me, largely because I don't have any Valks, and would probably squeal with joy if I got an Avalon Drake. Thinking I may wait and see if it overlaps with a Godfest, though.

What kind of teams do you guys normally use for Sky Prison (top level of the Friday dungeon). So far I have been using some form of a healer team (DQXQ // Valk, Shynee, Echidna, Lilith // LMEta), but I am very unhappy with my succes rate (maybe one in three or one in four). The main problem is the first wave, where I want to kill enough of the lits to survive, but leave one to stall for Lilith.

My main problem is, I don't feel comfortable enough to tackle the dubliths without poison/ignore defense/..., so happy to hear your strategies :)

I've got decent win rates with my devil team, not perfect but pretty good. The first wave does tend to be the tricky point because if you mess that up and can't stall you are SOL for the rest of the dungeon.
I think DQXQ is probably a poor leader choice, because for that first round you need 5 big hits and most everything else needs to be small so you don't wipe out all of the mythlits. The problem with a combo leader is you aren't going to have the damage to kill some unless you activate and then you'll probably wipe them all out. You might have better luck switching Valk for the leader and leave DQXQ as a sub.

If your Echidna is fully skilled up, you should be able to use her the first round of stage 2, and that should give you enough time to kill them off and have Echidna ready again for the last round on stage 3 before the Dub-myths kill you, giving you 3 extra rounds to take them out.

Of course, since you don't have a full board shift on the team you're probably using Echidna on the bosses instead.


I have been thinking about giving it a try with my Athena team, because TPAs are just great for a 2 boss stage like that and the TPAs earlier will make taking out the dubs in time that much easier.
So far I've been using my devil team, with evil Ceres subbed in to eat binds (and give me decent RCV without LD bonuses) and my main point of failure tends to be not getting both dub-myths killed in time.

DQXQ works well normally if I manage to hit exactly 1 light combo (and three other colours) in wave 1. This normally leaves 1 mythlit, but often gets messed up by skyfalls.

I use Metatron. Single max skilled echidna, full board enhance and bind immune bind clear leads.

I run my standard devil team, Lu Bu//Lucifer/Ronia/Haku/Haku//Ronia. Lucifer and both Haku are in their D/D evos, and one of the Haku is max skill, she needs to be up by round 2-3 (slvl 3-4). I've tried running Echidna, but the key to winning with this team is this : I don't stall on round 1 at all.

Floor 1 : Burn everything with a mass attack, preferably Fire
Floor 2 : I need to get two Dark mass attack and a Fire in order to kill in two turns without breaking defense; if I do Fire mass on floor 1, I usually have enough Dark to do the first mass, and then use Haku to get a mass fire and dark on round 2. This floor can be adjusted based on the cooldowns that the dublits start with, but anything that starts with a cooldown of 2 needs to eat the full brunt of one fire and two dark attacks to drop. I have tried taking Echidna, but she messes up the 2 dark/1 fire needed here and is only up in time if she's max skill (mine's 1 slvl shy)
Floor 3 : Little bit of breathing room. I try to drop one fire and one mass ASAP, but can then peel down the dubmyths with regular dark attacks. Be careful doing this, because any leftover dark attacks will end up directed against the Tamadra. Once both dubmyths are down, I let the Tamadra do whatever it wants, and checkboard Dark/Heart orbs across the bottom two rows, and then charge skills while it Pure Smiles. My two Ronia have their bind recovery awakenings, so when my skills are up, I can use hooks to turn the checkerboard into a dark row and a heart row; this means if I have one Ronia free I immediately heal anyone with 3 rounds of bind, and if both are free, I heal anyone with 6. I just have to make sure that the ones who aren't bound will be enough 1's to drop the Tamadra.
Floor 4My actives should be up and ready here; Ronia/Lucifer/Lu Bu burst for the win. If I haven't managed to stall enough on the previous rounds, I have one or two rounds; the turn that Angelit does Heart Attack and Devilit does Heart Break comes on round two or three of this floor, and will OHKO me. Considering it takes at minimum five turns to clear the previous floors (three for the first two floors, and then two more for floor 3, which happens on unlucky skyfalls), and I have nine skill boosts, that's minimum 14 rounds of skills charged. If you've taken any more than this, you should be in spitting distance of Ronia anyway. With this team, two dark rows and Lu Bu is easily enough to OHKO both lits. Lucifer is just gravy, but his 300k to Angelit is amusing to see.

Excellent points. Hmm...I wonder if AHades will eventually play a larger role for me if/when I have him awoken. I haven't used him at all to date.
Awoken Hades is really good. He's strong as a gimmick lead for certain dungeons - he was my lead on Challenge 9 this time around - and he's got some great awoken skills. His Active is pretty awesome, too, since it's on such a low cooldown for a good gravity.


Finally finished putting my Awoken Ceres together. Anyone have one they could put up in a couple hours? I'd like to give twinlits a try with her.

I love this. Much easier than my process, and seems much more reliable. Unfortunately I do not have a single one of the REM parts of that team, or I would immediately copycat you. I suppose that once we get Snow White's skill update she could maybe be used in place of Metatron, though I imagine the loss of that second skill boost would hurt.

There's awoken Venus too. I'd say Supergirl is better on light color combo leads (ie Kirin, DQ, Hathor, LKali) and healers, and superman is better everywhere else.

I'm actually thinking about giving my dark pees to Beelz (no one else, AHades is done). Maybe my 3 +9 tamas too - I think it's between him and U&Y the second. I haven't used my lights either, was thinking between flash and supes but never ended up deciding.

Uh, yeah that would be a great choice for a target except for one thing...Venus is one of the gods that has eluded me thus far. :smallfrown: I wanted her for awhile too when I first started playing; just never managed to get her.

I did end up using my 5(!) +9 Tamas on AHades. Along with the past couple of gifted Tamas and a lucky feed of a baby, he's fully awoken now and just 1 Badpy away from being max skilled.

Also found that I have another red pee to use along with the light one. Still no idea what to use them on. Maybe ADQ Hera-Ur for the red and Supes for the light?

So, is anyone planning on rolling on this weapon carnival? It's really tempting for me, largely because I don't have any Valks, and would probably squeal with joy if I got an Avalon Drake. Thinking I may wait and see if it overlaps with a Godfest, though.

Nice awakenings with 2 skill boosts and 2 TPAs. Weird active tho, so not sure how to use it yet. Maybe a DMeta sub or something?

This is one of the few that I don't lead with Ronia. My lineup is Shiva bookends (R/D uvo) with GrOdin/Ronia/Lu Bu/ADQ Hera-Ur (final evo Hera-Ur works fine too). Success of this build relies on stalling at Floor 1. I don't have it down to a science (haven't done the math), but what I do is I avoid mass attacks and go with 1 red and 1 dark match with at least 2-3 additional combos (not too much red tho or it will overkill). This typically will leave just the mythlits in varying numbers. Then it's stall for the 2 Shivas' skills. Once they're up, sweep the floor (no actives). F2 and F3, use one Shiva each and sweep. F4, skill order is Ronia>Hera-Ur (enhances the red orbs and maximizes the 10% gravity if I used ADQ Hera-Ur)>GrOdin (not really necessary but since the skill is available may as well do a little more damage lol)>Lu Bu, and it's OHKO. Very reliable as long as F1 is managed properly (I failed once this morning due to ridiculous skyfalls).

AHades is particularly good for Challenge 9, look at how many of those monsters carry Dark or Wood attributes. You don't need any recovery if you aren't taking damage!

The Awoken Greeks are meant for select end game content - often C9 and C10 are done with them, or Anubis. Challenges are the easiest way to get pees - coins will give you one per 2000 stamina (if your name isn't Otra), and one every 200 (if it is).

I asked Obryn about it before, you can probably find it a few pages back.

Prong-heavy on offense with utility subs. Kind of Whaley, too. My subs were Awoken Kagu, Awoken Ceres, Ult Beelzebub, and Dark Kali. Ceres for binds and panic heal, Beelz for offense and panic heal, Kagu for offense and burst, and Kali for orb-unscrewing. It worked quite well, overall.

Threedia is the toughest bit. Charge everything up.

PS: You've seen his Ra team before, and you said pretty much the same thing the last time you saw it too. Kauai you're not improving at all! :smallamused:

Mm, true. It takes a lot of blind luck to get a luxury team without IAP. Though I can say that my Devil team is mostly from my pre-IAP days; only Ronia came out of uncontrolled IAP. I had those Haku sitting around in my box for a long time, and have been using Lu Bu and Lucifer for just so long. Hell, the weird amount of luck I had with them is the primary reason I ended up using my devils so heavily, rather than my dragons. I guess devils are just more prevalent - or were.

I literally thought of Blonia as well. Physical typing would have been nice. But yeah, their skills at first glace are pretty gimmicky. Curious to see how it can be used effectively.

Good point. Took a quick look at PADX and there's an AHades team listed for the challenge. Will probably try that unless Obryn's build is better. Cool part is that if I can manage to pull it off, the reward is a Badpy so it would top off my AHades!

Thanks for finding the build for me. That one is going to take me a lot of work to develop (Beelz not awoken yet, for one). Gonna try the PADX one I think (AHades bookends with Pandora/Hanzo/Haku/Vamp; wish I had Aca's luck with skillups on my Panda, as she's still only at SL 3).

I actually put some thought into this as I have a bunch of Hakus too. It's doable but one of them would have to be chibi. Chibi covers blue, Lunar Corona uvo covers red. I guess the rest could be D/D uvo?

I actually did it fairly easily with Batchix//Echidna/Shaitan/Dark Dragon Knight/Vampire//Batchix. You could probably do something similar with a DD Bats team.

The thing with devils is that they're flexible in investment. You can build a pure nonREM team that's 80% as good as a pure REM team, but for an actual whale team like Hereos/Indian2/DMeta/GZL, a nonREM team is going to be 50% (if that) of a REM team. Although a big part of that is Ronia's multiplier is a soft cap that prevents her from going too far. Also, even within the REM, you can throw many of your options mishmash onto your team and have it work almost as well as a 'perfect' one. With others, you usually have a specific combination that's a lot better than others.

Ronia is actually like Horus in that way - team of ragtag misfits don't do much worse than a whale team. Good for nonIAP players/casual players.

Ronia is both easy to use AND easy to build AND easy to get, which is why she's so popular.

Wow, that's way more reliable than my build (i.e., doesn't rely on a long stall at F1). Need to finish skilling my Ra (not to mention learn how to play him!). Is there any other green card with 3 skill boosts other than Tengu? Mine isn't leveled or evo'd yet. lol

And yes, I'm consistently surprised how helpful it is to have a max skill Ra. Or two. :smallbiggrin: (Now that LD Ra is x7 I might bring him out to play sometime.)

Good point. Took a quick look at PADX and there's an AHades team listed for the challenge. Will probably try that unless Obryn's build is better. Cool part is that if I can manage to pull it off, the reward is a Badpy so it would top off my AHades!

Thanks for finding the build for me. That one is going to take me a lot of work to develop (Beelz not awoken yet, for one). Gonna try the PADX one I think (AHades bookends with Pandora/Hanzo/Haku/Vamp; wish I had Aca's luck with skillups on my Panda, as she's still only at SL 3).

That's only my gimmick Ra team. Usually I run DKali, Echidna, Susano, and a wildcard - often LMeta or Orochi. Sometimes GrOdin or Puzzdroid replace Susano.

If the boss is bind immune, echidna lets me stall more for Susano.

I have another gimmick build for Masks, with Uriel, Gabriel, the green wizard lady, and DW Batman. Paired with Horus instead of Ra.

Oh and that PADX team looks pretty decent but I like mine better. :smallcool: The only one I wasn't sure about was Beelz.


Love this setup, too bad the only monster I have of the ones here is Echidna :P

The Awoken Greeks are meant for select end game content - often C9 and C10 are done with them, or Anubis. Challenges are the easiest way to get pees - coins will give you one per 2000 stamina (if your name isn't Otra), and one every 200 (if it is).

I decided to evo gronia on a whim yesterday, fed her a green noel, and got a great that pushed her to 94. Also ran Tamadra village and woke up my new Yomi (lvl 90, uvo now) and third uvo U&Y (lvl 89). I'm now experimenting with a team of U&Y, U&Y, U&Y, Yomi, Flex. Flex being Kirin (hypermax), BAO Batman, Izanagi, or Durga.


It takes a lot of blind luck period, because I went IAP and still didn't get a luxury team.

I actually put some thought into this as I have a bunch of Hakus too. It's doable but one of them would have to be chibi. Chibi covers blue, Lunar Corona uvo covers red. I guess the rest could be D/D uvo?

Hmm....actually, could build a no-dupes team with all members having Haku actives! Banishing Claw/Lunar Corona/Chibi/Final evo/unevo'd/Dark chaser. That might be fun. lol

That's where #3 came from. I said screw it, unevolved lunar corona (D/R) and am gunning for three banishing claws. ALL THE ROWS AND FULL BOARD SHIFTS. And some TPA lovin' too.

Wood is like my elusive highschool sweetheart I'll never truly forget. Or like that chick who keeps reincarnating and yorturing Dracula.

I started with Parvati, and couldn't get anywhere with wood because by the time I could handle descends I got six berserkers, zero highlanders, and a bunch of light healers.

Then I end up maxing Parvati anyway, and subbing her on a hound of Chulain team, and that's, Iunno, fun I guess, but I've got Lmeta right there with much more investment and skill ups and better subs all around because her good stuff at the time was either pink machine or farmable.

Then Perseus shows up and brings his twin brother, two sasuke and a dinosaur with Parvati's skill like some weird parlor trick magician.

So suddenly green rows become a thing, and I say **** it, I am NOT gonna be made a chump by a Greek hero and an animu ninja, so I build a row enhance team and start working on components for that, with either attacker or balance components.

Except! By the time I do that I've accidentally got an amazing blue row enhance team with awesome tribal and elemental leaders and tons of versatility, so why bother? Then I see, I should do a wood team based on two prongs! But then a bunch of blue two prongs fall in my lap and without the elemental superiority of Light or Dark in frankly wasting my time.

And now Parvati is getting this amazing awoken ultimate evolution and I'm like, I will be on that **** like brown on rice, like American food companies on that brown, and like health nuts on the white on rice. I will get that stuff ASAP!

... And then I fail to get the wood orbs necessary to Evo her >x>

Believe me, there's been a LOT of awful luck along the way. One or two good pulls for every 8-10 pulls overall, if I'm honest with myself. Worse lately, just a ton of duplicates.

News for tonight : I just uvo'ed Unicorn and Athena, and will be aiming to farm a light jewel tomorrow so I'll have all the parts to double-uvo Valk. Went 5/13 to awaken Athena with baby Tamadra, and 1/4 on my Chrono Turtle.. what a waste. I have awful luck with those little bits. I'm thinking I want to raise Chrono Turtle to run as a possible alt on my Kali team (block skill bind), though, so it seemed a decent place to dump them. I may also temporarily run his as a member of my Anoobis team, when I start practicing with that, purely for the two extra time extends. The six second CTW doesn't hurt, either.

::Edit:: Wow. So apparently just adding my Kali to PDX has resulted in a major influx of people sending requests. I've had new friend requests every time I've logged on tonight - I've added at least 6-8 people already, with no effort on my part. Pretty sweet, though I've decided to bump up my friend list allowance to make space.

Its the most stable build. It will be even better once lu bu gets his ult. One unbindable monster will cause the mythlits to flash bind most of the turns. it gives you the necessary rcv with the rsonia multipliers to survive hits. I had this talk with Kaui when I first talked about this. it was between lmeta and grodin for thr unbindable Mon. It doesn't require any +s either.

F1 one combo of red or a 3 combo dark then stall till all actives are up. (Chances of no red or dark are low)

F2 just kill with rsonia active.

F3 Shiva

F4 rsonia + lubu, rsonia

I have yet to die.

Considering that's worse than me when I'm having an off day, yeah, I'd say so. Hell, it's hardly better than my eight year old nephew can manage.
