Good Day Playground!

I have a question regarding casting time. I am building a NPC baddie that specializes in summoning. As most of the 'Summon' spells require a full round to cast I was looking for a way to speed him up. Is there a feat or item that could assist with this? All help is appreciated. The base class for this NPC is wizard.

Rapid summoning conjurer variant. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm)

Most straightforward way I know of. Rapid Spell(Complete Divine) metamagic will also do it for a +1 slot adjustment.

Note: Usually this is a referred to as the casting time. Duration generally refers to how long the spells effects last, such as 1 round/level in the cast of a summoning spell.

You might do well to mention the base class for this plan. Different classes have different methods of speeding up their summoning.

Golden Desert Honey (Complete Mage, pg. 136) is an optional material component that does exactly what you're looking for. It turns a summoning spell with a 1 round cast time into a summoning spell with a casting time of 1 standard action. 300 gp per pop.

And I'm with Zanos: change your title. This isn't about durations at all. It's about casting times. The two terms are not interchangeable.

Thanks. I will check that out. I edited the OP to the correct term. I also added the base class. Apologies for the confusion.

A Chronocharm of the Uncaring Archmage (MIC pg.86 500gp) can change the casting time of a 3rd lvl or lower spell from 1 round to a standard action 1/day.

Arcane spellsurge (7th level spell in Dragon Magic, as I recall) speeds up all casting. Full round casting spells becomes standard action, standard becomes swift.
