Sword of the Stars (or SotS), is a 4X Genre game, (think Civilization and the like) with a big focus on combat.
You build spaceships, colonize planets, and duke it out with missiles, lasers, and ships that throw giant rocks. I Kid you not. I highly encourage any fans of empire building/real time strategy to chck it out, it's fairly inexpensive and created by an indepenedent studio that has several f the people who worked on Homeworld on board-
