So, here's my doubt: Spells like legend lore specify a part of the mats which is consumed and the other that is not. Forcecage asks for ruby dust valued in 1500g. Is it consumed?

And following that thought, if a spell requires mats that costs gold, say Identify and its 100g pearl. Is it by default consumed? If its not consumed it must be clarified?

Thanks a lot!

The spell that consume the materials state in the components line if they are consumed or not. You stated identify as an example using a pearl worth 100gp, the pearl isn't consumed but if you look at the next spell Illusory Script you will see in the components line that the 10gp worth of lead based ink is consumed. The Forcecage spell does not consume the 1500gp worth of ruby dust

As an FYI, we have a stickied thread dedicated to answering these quick rules questions. You can find it here: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?366424-Simple-Q-amp-A-D-amp-D-5-(by-RAW)-I

It's usually better to ask there as you're more likely to get a quick answer for any questions, just be sure to follow the procedure
