Beach VI

[Kyrian]

It's the beach. Deal with it.

Were they successful? Sia sits cross-legged on the sand and rests her chin on her hand.

[Nevrmore]

"You mean the gangs? If they were, would I be here?"

[Uberblah]

Conrad comes walking along the beach. He gets to a spot that seems nice and all of a sudden is wearing a pair of swimming trunks. He runs out into the water and dives into the waves. He swims around a bit enjoying the soothing feeling it's giving him.

[Obsidian Blade]

Why are you here, anyways, Adder? Why do you want to change Town? You told me you wandered until you came here... why not just leave if you don't like it?

[Uberblah]

((ooo... she's standing up to him finally? wow...))

Conrad continues swimming, oblivious to the others on the beach.

((Naw, she's just curious. If she does stand up to him for some reason it will be a lot more explosive then this... ;) ))

"I never said I didn't like it - It's an interesting place. It's a challenge."

((ah i see. BTW Zeb's dead. just thought i'd throw that out there))

Sia shrugs. I guess... but it's a pretty powerful place as well.

"That's why I've got friends like you, Lelin and Aesa."

((last night. A few nights ago he regained his lost memories and went searching for something that fought back and killed him. read the woods thread around 44 and 45 i think))

I haven't seen what Aesa can do.

"She's strongs, trust me." He smiles a bit, "So, you want to just sit here watching the waves, or what?"

I don't care. What do you want do? She stands and brushes sand of herself.

Conrad stops swimming and gets out, away from Adder and Sia, still not noticing them. He is now wearing his normal clothes and walks over to Trog's.

"I mean, we can stay if you want to."

[Obsidian Blade]

She shakes her head. You don't like it here all that much, and I'm calmer now anyways.

[Nevrmore]

"Well, the only two places I really know in this place are Trog's and the Slums, and frankly I don't feel like going to either right now."

[Obsidian Blade]

Sia sits back down again. Okay.

[Nevrmore]

"What I meant was, do you have any places you'd like to go?"

[McBish]

Eric walks onto the beach a good distance away from the two of them and takes off his shoes and shirt. He then dives into the water swimming out to sea.

[Obsidian Blade]

Sia watches Eric out of the corner of her eye. Not really, though I haven't been back to the woods since I arrived here. Do you want to go?

[Nevrmore]

"Sure. Haven't seen the foliage around here, yet."

[McBish]

Eric swims out a long way. He turns around and starts to swim back. Eric makes it back and gets his shoes and shirt and goes to the docks, where he returns to his building and goes to sleep.

Sia gets up again. There aren't very many trees in Dranell. Well, there are in the rich district, but they're all the same and boring.

[Nevrmore]

"Sounds crappy. Anyway, you lead the way."

[Obsidian Blade]

Sia leads him onto the streets thread.

[McBish]

Jo walks onto the beach. She sits down and then lays down to look at the stars. Slowly she falls asleep. She wakes up in the morning and walks back to the streets.

[Baeleck]

Lycande rushes onto the beach, tumbling over in the sand and laughing to herself. She then sits there, waiting for Karaki to catch up.

[Exachix]

Karaki wanders out on the beach, trying to sneak up on Lycande.

[Baeleck]

Lycande pretends not to see him and begins to collect shells.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and sneak hugs her.

[Baeleck]

Lycande giggles at the sneak hug.
{Elven} "Finally caught up, eh?"

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles.

{Elven}"Finally."

[Baeleck]

Lycande picks another piece of cord out of her pocket and threads a cowrie shell onto it. She then ties it up and hangs it around Karaki's neck.
{Elven} "There. Hopefully that one won't morph into the walls if you press it against it."
She grins.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and gets a shell, and some string, before creating a 'pendant' for Lycande and putting it around her neck.

[Baeleck]

Lycande looks closley at the shell, smiling.
{Elven} "It's beautiful. Just like you."
She kisses him.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and kisses her back and lays out the blanket.

[Baeleck]

Lycande sits down on it, putting the rest of the shells she has in a small pile on the edge.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and sits by her, with the food just on the blanket by their heads.

[Baeleck]

Lycande looks to see what food there is.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles.

Bread... some meat (Bamhacon) and some apples.

[Baeleck]

Lycande slices the bread and some bamhacon and makes herself a sandwich. She munches on it, looking out to see at the setting sun.

[Exachix]

Karaki makes a sandwich himself and rests his head on her shoulder.

[Baeleck]

Lycande puts an arm round his neck and strokes his hair.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and watches the sea.

[Baeleck]

The large, orange sun refracts on the rolling waves which crash quietly against the shore. Lycande smiles as she also watches.

[Exachix]

Karaki hmms.

{Elven}"Looks like there are 2 very beautiful things here tonight."

He kisses her.

[Baeleck]

Lycande smiles at the comment and returns the kiss.
{Elven} "That there are. But just looking at one makes me forget the other." she comments, looking into Karaki's eyes.
Her own eyes glint in the light from the sunset, and there is also an inner light; a glint of happiness.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and kisses her softly, looking at her eyes. His eyes glint also, but glint in contention.

[Baeleck]

Lycande notices the tide is getting close to them now. She stands up from the rug.
{Elven} "Let's move back a bit."

[Exachix]

Karaki nodds, and moves everything back up the beach a bit.

[Baeleck]

Lycande goes up to the water and dips a hand in. She likes flowing water, especially by the sea. They didn't have that back in Tirganach.

[Exachix]

Karaki watches her.

[Baeleck]

Lycande takes her shoes off, rolls up her trousers and paddles in the water, playfully.

[Exachix]

Karaki goes and sits not far away from her, sitting with his knees up and arms wrapped around them.

[Baeleck]

The sun now having completley set leaves the beach dark. Lycande doesn't hesitate to remove her clothes and begin to swim offshore, diving about.

[Exachix]

Karaki stands and looks for her.

[Baeleck]

Lycande pokes her head out of the water and gives a wave. She then swims along the beach a bit more towards some rocks.

[Exachix]

Karaki watches her and smiles.

[Baeleck]

Lycande pulls herself up onto one of the rocks and peers back at Karaki, her silhouette outlined in the dim and quickly fading light coming from the horizon.

[Exachix]

Karaki sees her and walks slowly over to her.

[Baeleck]

Lcande grins as he nears, but he probably can't see this.
{Elven} "Going to come join me?" she asks.

[Exachix]

Karaki hmms, and goes to the rocks... unless the rocks are not on the beach, and he needs to swin to get there.

[Baeleck]

It's a bit of a scramble, but he can reach the rocks easily. Lycande splashes back into the water, clinging onto the side of the rock.

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles to her.

{Elven}"Hello Lycande."

[Baeleck]

Lycande dives under the water, and tries to sneak up on him by swimming around the other side of the rock.

[Exachix]

Karaki doesn't see her.

[Baeleck]

Lycande rises out of the water and puts a wet hand down his back, giggling.
{Elven} "Guess who..."

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles.

{Elven}"I don't know who. But my shirt's wet."

[Baeleck]

Lycande laughs.
{Elven} "You do know who..." she says, leaning round him from behind and kissing him.
{Elven} "Unless, of course, you're being unfaithful and kissing a total stranger."

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles and kisses her cheek.

{Elven}"I would never dream of that."

He hmms and looks around, and seeing no-one, kisses her neck and shoulder.

[Baeleck]

Lycande shivers a little as he kisses her. She then sees a cloud of dead time try to attack her, and so ducks out the way, unfortunatley pulling Karaki towards the water. What's worse, the dead time does actually get her.

That's lucky, the Dead time gets Karaki too.

Namesake walks along the beach, lost in thought. Eventually, he sits on a rock, staring off into the waves, and is overtaken by dead time.

Eventually, State takes back his body, and he walks back to KNAVES HQ.

Eric walks back onto the beach and sits down. He seems lost in thought.

'Older' Xeni walks onto the beach, listening absently to the ticking of his pocket watch. He stands near the edge of the surf, gazing out onto the ocean.
I almost look forward to death.

Leonel carries Nightstar out to the beach.

[Timberwolf]

I haven't been here in a while, not since... beaches are good, one of my favourite places.

[Kyrian]

And I know it's a little mushy...but I believe you deserve a day off to just be a girl?

[Timberwolf]

You're right in 2 ways. yes it's mushy...

and I haven't done that in a while so I think I deserve it too.

Leonel kisses her on the forehead before setting her down.

[Timberwolf]

She enjoys the feeling of the sand between her bare toes and pulls leonel towards the water.

[Kyrian]

Leonel chuckles as he's pulled.

[Timberwolf]

They run towards the water, Nightstar slightly ahead.

[Kyrian]

Leonel laughs as he chases after her.

[Timberwolf]

They reach the water, Nightstar enjoying the cool touch of it around her toes

Not been paddling in ages.

[Kyrian]

Well, in that case, your welcome.

[Timberwolf]

She stands next to him and snuggles while the water plays around their feet

You did take your shoes off right ?

Made 'em vanish a while ago, love. Leonel puts an arm around her and watches the end of the setting sun.

She's content to just stand there and watch the sun.

[Kyrian]

Leonel smiles and pulls Nightstar closer.

She goes with the pull and holds him too.

So I guess the question is, what am I going to do with you?

Well, a good start is always the cuddle. Then, for the slightly more advanced Nightstar handler, there's the kiss.

Cuddle...check. Kiss? Leonel leans down and passionately kisses her. Check.

Leonel grins and reaches around the back of her dress, to push the button.

Leonel chuckles. He presses the button again.

That particular button is playing a vital role in dress support. Pressing it's counterpart on the other side would have disastrous effects for the integrity of the dress.

She presses somewhere around leonel's chest.

Leonel giggles a bit, then goes for the counterpart button.

With utterly predictable results for the dress.

She starts to operate all the ones on his shirt right before the black curtain comes down

'Older' Xeni pulls himself out of the water where he had fallen in. He sighs and walks towards the streets.

Leonel pulls the black curtain down and uses it to cover him and Nightstar.

She stirs a little and mumbles happily.

Leonel chuckles and brushes her lips lightly with his own. Morning, love...

[Timberwolf]

She snuggles closer.

[Kyrian]

Leonel grins and holds her close.

Still morning sometime.

Oh good. Haven't spent all night on a beach ever.

Night on the beach, well, i was... distracted but what i remember of it, i really liked.

Leonel just grins.

I've missed so much... Now that I don't have to keep running, I'm starting to appreciate that.

Nights on the beach, being irresponsible, being able to sit in a tavern without getting thrown out, family, you name it. This has been the first time all 4 of us have been together in over 20 years.

Leonel grins and cuddles closer.

Cursing forum outages, Nightstar sits up and tries to get the sand out of her dress.

Leonel sits up partway and kisses her bare back, trying to distract her.

Utterly willing to be distracted, she turns and kisses him.

Leonel retaliates with another kiss.

She gently pushes him over and moves in for more kisses.

[Kyrian]

Leonel grins up at her.

She looks down at him

Hmmmm, see something you like ?

I see a beautiful woman that I love.

Ah, that. Yes, a fine selection sir.

She grins as she realises she let the bizarre sense of humour out of its cage.

She gently traces his arm muscles.

Leonel shivers and pulls her into a passionate kiss.

Leonel pretends to think as he lightly runs his fingers over her back.

She shivers at the touch.

Leonel, I've had some news and it isn't good. It came in a couple of days ago.

Bad news? What? Leonel sits up, concerned.

Has Snowraven told you all about me and her, I mean everything up till we came here ?

Leonel shakes his head. Not everything....what's wrong??

Well, you know these Dark Saiyans of yours ? Well, our equivalent is coming to town too. It's not as bad as yours, these at least can be killed. The problem is there's an awful lot more of them and they're our people.

[Kyrian]

You know I'll help you.

[Timberwolf]

It's not that I'm not secure in my ability to cut a bloody swathe through them. It's the fact that this time they're sending a friend. Did I tell you the story of my last lover riding his mech down in flames ?

[Kyrian]

Yes you did...

[Timberwolf]

Well, of the five of us who stood in that valley, three of us walked out. Me, Snowraven and one other. Andrea Bekker is her name. She wants to take both of us back. It seems that the Clan needs our services for some nefarious purpose. The problem is that neither of us wants to go and do it.

[Kyrian]

I won't let them take you.

[Timberwolf]

Andrea is very, very single minded and I don't want to have to kill her. Or anyone she brings with her. The last people who came after us were from a different clan and they ran into Aesa when she was feeling even less stable than normal. We sent their pieces home, of course. But this time, they've gotten clever about it.

[Kyrian]

Clever how?

[Timberwolf]

They're sending someone neither I nor Snowraven will kill lightly, backed up by people wo are kind of like family. It's complex.

And there's always the nightmare scenario of her trying to snatch Duskblossom, thinking she's Snowraven. The only way to tell them apart is that Duskblossom has one violet eye

Then I'll do it.

[Timberwolf]

I don't want Andrea dead. It'd be like killing your friend Kyrian. We've been through a lot together. And killing anyone with her will be equally bad although in another way. My people do nothing in haste, but when they do, it's done properly. We'd have the entire fighting arm down on us in no time.

[Kyrian]

I won't lose you...

[Timberwolf]

No, you won't lose me. I have no intention of being lost, believe me. But this is going to be difficult. There'll be at least five of them and they'll have brought their mechs with them. They'll try diplomacy first though.

[Kyrian]

And I would like to be there the whole time.

[Timberwolf]

That I can manage. Last I heard, she'll be in town in a couple of days so we have a bit of time.

[Kyrian]

Leonel nods and pulls Nightstar close, holding her tightly.

[Timberwolf]

She moves to sit in his lap.

It's all we need. A load of maniacs with the firm intention of killing you and another load with the firm intention of kidnapping me.

[Kyrian]

I won't let them. Either of them.

[Timberwolf]

We won't let them. they're my maniacs too.

She looks up at him and smiles.

[Kyrian]

Leonel smiles back and kisses her neck and shoulders.

[Timberwolf]

She responds in kind.

[Kyrian]

Leonel shivers and draws her closer.

[Timberwolf]

She snuggles, obviously trying to work out what the hell to do about Andrea.

[Kyrian]

Leonel rubs her shoulders.

[Timberwolf]

Hmmmmm, that feels good. Takes my mind off stuff.

[Kyrian]

Leonel chuckles and kisses her neck as he continues.

[Timberwolf]

She stretches out and lets him continue.

Have you heard any more about your band of lunatics ?

[Kyrian]

Nope, and I don't really mind that.

[Timberwolf]

Can't say I blame you. Perhaps tomorrow though, we'd better nip into town and make a small information gathering trip. Cosmo at the tavern told me about Andrea. He may know some more.

Ok.... Leonel's clothes appear on him.

[Timberwolf]

She stands up, sorts her dress and goes to take his hand.

[Kyrian]

Leonel stands and allows his hand to be taken again.

[Timberwolf]

((I ought to get to bed, it's 3.20. Shallwe reconvene them again in the Tavern later ? I may not be around much tomorrow though, got a lot to do))

Eric wakes up and looks around.

Karaki may or may not leave dead time at this real time.

Lycande leaves dead time. She gives a slight gasp, realising they've been there a fair while.
{Elven} "I hope nobody saw me...
She swims back onto the beach and gets dressed.

[Exachix]

Karaki follows her and smiles.

{Elven}"We wouldn't know... and I don't think they could have seen us from where we were."

[Baeleck]

Lycande grins, pulling on her top and then calling for a portal.
{Elven} "Can I pop back to the appartment and get my armour and stuff?"

[Exachix]

{Elven}"Sure... I wouldn't say no."

he picks up the picknik stuff.

[Baeleck]

Shal pops his head out of the portal.
"Someone who wants to speak with you, Lycande."
He then invites someone through.

[Shadow of the Sun]

Umbras steps through the portal, and says in his voice, which though normally cheerful is quite sombre: Greetings. I don't think we have been correctly introduced. I am Umbras Darkslinger.

[Exachix]

Karaki hmms.

"Then hello Umbras.. tell me, were you the one at the dryad's grove?"

Yes, yes I was. And if you don't mind, I would like to talk to Lycande about the death of the drow Criag.

[Exachix]

Karaki hmms and stands by Lycande, wrapping an arm around her, so his hand is on her shoulder.

[Baeleck]

Lycande, who was smiling before, puts on a frown.
"What about the Dracon?" she asks.

[Shadow of the Sun]

Understand this, both of you. I know she is the one who eventually killed him. However, I am not here to convict her. I would just prefer to talk.

[Baeleck]

Lycande's eyes widen and she looks back at Karaki.
"Um... well, what do you want to ask me?"

[Exachix]

Karaki hmms and watches Umbras.

[Shadow of the Sun]

I am here to talk about why you did it.

[Baeleck]

Lycande puts on a stern face.
"Why? Because he killed my Feniar! The one who I had for company every second of my day for over ten years! That's why I slaughtered the bastard!" she says, her brow furrowed with frustration.

((Brb food))

[Exachix]

Karaki closes his eyes and rubs her shoulder.

"Vengeance."

Excellent. Did you consider the people that loved him? The people who relied on him for company? The people for whom he created the same feelings Feniar did in you? Umbras asks harshly.

[Exachix]

Karaki sighs.

"Umbras... It's too late now... the deed is done."

[Shadow of the Sun]

The deed is indeed done. However, I am here to make her understand exactly what she did. How she continued a useless cycle of death and pain. I bear her no ill will. I bear no-one ill will. But why does she have the right to decide another person should die!?

[Baeleck]

Lycande shouts at Umbras now.
"Does it even occur to you, that this man was evil? He was trying to destroy the material plane - even after he was told about what he was doing!"

[Shadow of the Sun]

Does it ever occur to you that what you did was just as evil as what he was attempting? Ending life, no matter what scale it is, is always evil. There is no such thing as a righteous killing, spitting those last two words. Did it ever occur to you that killing a person just because he is evil does nothing? That it is an even worse sin than killing a man that is good?

[Exachix]

Karaki lets out a breath.

"Umbras... what authority do you have to tell us what to do and what not to do in this case?"

[Shadow of the Sun]

As of right now, none. But I could, if I so chose, get the authority of the chosen of Aryn. He stands adamant. However, I will not. This is me talking, not a god, just a man. A man that has endured more than people ten times his age.

[Baeleck]

Lycande nods, calming herself a bit.
"What else was I supposed to do? Leave him to find the stone? By doing that, I would have doomed everyone."

[Shadow of the Sun]

There is no evil person alive that cannot be redeemed. I accept that you were trying to avoid the death countless people. But killing an evil man does nothing but condemn him to an eternity in the hells. When he could have been so much more, with only some help.

[Baeleck]

Lycande sighs.
"There's no way to change a Dracon. He is bound under law to serve his God. If not, then he is killed anyway. Death was his only escape."

[Shadow of the Sun]

Death by redemption is a better prize than death by anger. If he had been redeemed, then perhaps a God of good would have attempted to save his soul. Now, he is either a devil, ready to kill again, or a tortured soul.

[Baeleck]

Lycande's anger heightens again.
"I still can't see how letting him live would have been better. I can't!"

[Shadow of the Sun]

Fine. He extends his right arm. Break my arm.

[Exachix]

Karaki hmms.

"Umbras, would you like someone running around in the world killing your friends with no heart or just killing. Craig would just have killed people without thinking about it. He's better gone. Will you let me Lycande?"

[Shadow of the Sun]

His arm still extended, he turns to Karaki. Who is worse. The man who kills universally, or the man who killed the first when he could have redeemed him. Who could have saved his soul, even if he died from the act of redemption. In his death as it is you are either responsible for the eternal torture of a man's soul, or you have given him even more ability to kill.

[Baeleck]

Lycande gives him a confused look.
"Why should I break your arm?"

Karaki raises an eyebrow and looks him over.

"You don't have the customary badge."

Part of the charter. Any citizen with evidence can arrest someone who they know is guilty of a crime, if they track them down.

Karaki hmms.

"So; if we break your arm... you'll take us to jail?"

Lycande shakes her head.
"I know you're trying to help. I'm not going to break your arm."

If you break my arm, right now, with no doubt, yes, I will arrest you, Karaki. I will, however, not arrest Lycande. She doubted. And then she refused. She proved to me she would not do it with pleasure. If she cannot break the arm of a man angering her with pleasure, she has shown herself to be above jail. Jail, in my mind, is a place to punish people who do not punish themselves for a crime. She is fundamentally a good person. One who became angry and did what she saw as necessary to avenge herself, but I have no doubt that she will feel remorse for that act.

Lycande thinks things through in her mind. To her, Umbras' logic and ethics seem to be flawed, or at least a bit confused. She says nothing, though.

Karaki speaks emotionally, seemingly under control.

"Friend, people die alot here. Fights break out and people are killed as part of the crossfire, or as a target, will you hunt down and find everyone of them?"
