Welcome, to the Horrid Manor. It is accessible via mysterious planar rifts in various regions of the Deep Wood.

The manor seems very *peaceful* if not creepy. It is infinitely vast, and thick, cold mist surrounds most of the ground and even the manor. Many of the features that you encounter are illusory, save few object that might be of value.

If you try to walk out of the manor to the ground, you can walk as far as you want. However, at one point or another you'll find yourself next to the manor again. The manor is similar in that way; if you enter a door then go out, then enter through the same door, it might lead to a completely different room.

There's always a small planar gate in the middle of the ground, surrounded by oddly shaped stone statues.

What lies within depends on your imagination.

Ilyra stands in the middle of the ground. The grass seems to be poorly looked after, and the life seems to be fading away from the whole surrounding. Ilyra casts a spell, trying to conjure a fire elemental, but the spell itself does not work. Annoyed, the halfling mutters a curse under her breath and walks toward the grim Manor.

The manor itself looks deserted. Deathly silent surrounding doesn't help much in cheering her up either. The door, a fine oaken door has a magnificent dragon carved on it. When she pushes it, it makes a loud creaking noise and it opens ever so slightly. Ilyra leans on it and pushes harder; the hinge -or whatever it was- screeches, but the empty hallway does not echo with the sound.

With her crossbow drawn, Ilyra carefully walks into the Manor, closing the door behind her...

((I wonder how weird it would be to have Plot participate in a plot.))

((Plot within plot would be fine. Although this place is designed for a specific plot, as it as accessible by many, other plots can always happen!))

The door closes without the normal screech. Ilyra is now standing at the entrance into the main foyer of the manor. A red-carpetted stair leads to the upper floor, but the thick mist obscures what lies ahead. Visibility is poor; even her ability to see in total darkness does not help.

To her left is a dark corridor with many doors, to her right is a huge wooden double door, with two armours *guarding* the door. The armours are holding a massive halberd each, crossed to block any tresspassers.

Weird. Ilyra says out aloud; half expecting her voice to echo through the silence, and perhaps reveal its denizens. However, her voice sounds much thinner, with no echo at all. Her footstep toward the stairway sounds somehow muffled, and the cold atmosphere constantly gnaws at her lungs.

There is not a drop of sunlight in the manor, although somehow she can still *see* some of the structures not hidden behind the mist.

Ilyra crouches down and puts her hand on her eyes. Muttering a few magical incantation, she studies the magical impression in the manor. As expected, the manor itself radiated very strong magic, except- the armours. There were many different magical auras, the strongest being the double door; or rather, something behind the door.

The dragon ('I forgot to ask its name!') told her that the chain was within the heart of the manor. This manor seems to defy any common senses though; it was just full of oddities. Much like Chaos. Chaos did not radiate such magic though.

Ilyra stands in the middle of the foyer, quite confused as to which path to take. After a while, she walks to the double door and gently pushes it. With a creak...

Clang!!!

The armours fall to the marble floor! Ilyra, startled, falls down to the ground and waits for the clanging echo to bring any ghosts -it seemed very likely- out. No, although the initial slam was loud enough, the sound did not waft through the manor. It was as if the sound had frozen in space and time!

The double door itself did not even budge (considering her strength, which was not surprising); and the armour did not move either. Well, I thought it would stand back up and attack! Amusing herself with such thought (and in fact, slightly embarassed that she reacted so jumpily), Ilyra wild shapes into the shape of a giant feline. A tiger, with a black feather-shaped patern on her forehead instead of usual pattern.

She leans against the door and pushes; but it seems to be locked and bolted. Sighing, the tiger turns around and heads through the Corridor with Many Doors...

From the darkest corners of the recesses in the hallway where the various armor is displayed emerges a man known by those in the Town as Shadow.
While searching for the Lich's Heart over the past few months, Shadow came across a text that fortold of a scroll hidden across the plains which could deliver any being that spoke the incantation to that which he needs most.

Shadow looks around for a few moments trying to ascertain where he is before calling out softly...

"Hello?"

No response comes.
Shadow draws his rapier and stalks down the hallway, searching for some clue as to where he's ended up.

Searching, always, for the Lich's Heart....

He calls out softly once more...

"Hello?"
