Hi playground,

I would like to know more about the actual books of this game. I could see here (http://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/1138/how-do-you-tell-if-a-dd-book-is-3-0-or-3-5) that five books were reprinted in 2012-2013:

2012/08 Dungeon Master's Guide (premium edition) (DMG)
2012/08 Monster Manual (premium edition) (MM)
2012/08 Player's Handbook (premium edition) (PH)
2013/04 Spell Compendium (premium edition) (SpC)
2013/07 Magic Item Compendium (premium edition) (MIC)

1. What does "Premium Edition" mean exactly? In the premium edition of PHB, shapechange goes up to 25 or 50 HD?
2. Is there a website somewhere where we can find all 3rd Edition books in mint condition and for sale?
3. Has anyone looked at the total price of all 3.0/3.5 books? I find this game so awesome that I might try to buy them all, but that really depends on how expensive the entire collection is.

Yeah, it comes to roughly $6,000 USD. There are 150ish WotC published books, which run an average of $55 each. Then you have some that are more expensive, like Tome of Battle.

6 grand is a low estimate, and assumes you buy them second-hand. You want mint condition, have fun paying $80-120 a book.

amazon and ebay are your best bet
your local gaming store may still have some stock
used book stores too
I don't want to know how much they cost, lol, I bought most of mine brand new when they was released, but for those that I didn't amazon and ebay is where I went
for pdf's you can find most at www.rpgnow.com

The premium versions are reprints that include all of the errata for that book. They were put out as away to make some money. (Presumably because 4e wasn't making enough, they went back and made reprints of previous edition material.)

Unlike the rest of printed books, as a medium. :smalltongue:
