Hydra Help?

I am thinking of making a slightly custom hydra with one head and I need a way to do what they did in Hercules and split the head in 2 after one is cut off. I want to know if there are any rules on it and if not I would really like the help making some. What I have is that certain elemental damage like fire would stop the heads from regrowing. :smallbiggrin:

The regular hydra (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/hydra.htm) already does that - two heads for each one you remove. It stops at 2x heads and sheds the extra over time (unless you plan on having an enterprising goblin come across it (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0326.html) anyway.) Just make one that starts with one head and use that rules text.
