So, in a game I'm in, a character is absolutely wasted. Like, slurring every word, kind of stumbling around, picking fights with random NPCs. Due to reasons, this is about to turn deadly violent, so I need to intervene. We then realized we can't find an penalties for being drunk. This (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/afflictions/drugs/alcohol) is the closest, and that just seems lacking (no penalties at all until you're being sick).

Anyone know where I can find real drunk penalties?

3.5 has rules for drunkenness and intoxication in the Arms and Equipment Guide, page 32. That might be a good start.

I think the Arms and Equipment guide has rules on this?

If pathfinder is okay there is the drunk template (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/drunk-cr--1)...

That template is the exact same as the default rules, which is just apply sickened.

An easy way to do it could be to add a weakened sickened condition at his 1 + Con Mod, and then add in a nauseous condition after 1 + [Con Mod*3].

Get the player drunk.

Easiest solution :P

Shaken could work pretty well, for a lowish level character?

But officer, someone on the internet told me to get my little nephew drunk to help role-playing!

That's 3rd-party.

@OP: Aside from being sickened (which covers your general reduction to... well, everything while drunk) your specific behavior when intoxicated is a matter of roleplay. Some folks pick fights while drunk, some get very jovial/amiable, some fall asleep, some become amorous etc. The rules dictating which one applies to your character is just a surefire way to cause arguments at the table and derail the game.

GMG adds in a sidebar that folks who regular abuse alcohol can develop a moderate addiction (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/afflictions/drugs), if you really do want more severe penalties.

But do they list a DC for alcohol addiction? Or am I just blind?

They don't - there is no save, it's basically up to the GM to determine when you've crossed the line into "abuse," and at that point you automatically get the affliction. It's a disease though, so it's not impossible to get rid of, though it may recur if you go back to binge-drinking.

I would personally expect some classes, notably Drunken Master, to have a much higher threshold for this sort of thing.

OMG. This is... wow, that's really specific. haha. "Let's roll and see how bad the hangover is now!" That's a phrase I've not heard in D&D before.

So I guess the DM gets to pick and choose the DC of Alcohol. Hmm.... Interesting.
