Wow, some peeps here seem afraid to use the term "troll" for fear of getting accused of flaming someone.

I could see a joke in the strip here, with an actual D&D troll in a strip, and everyone referring to it as a large, humanoid, regenerating monster until finally someone says "troll" and gets hit with flaming arrows from everywhere and nowhere....

Maybe in a Mail Call strip. Otherwise those arrows would be blocked by the fourth wall.

It might be funnier if it happened in the strip, with the FLAME arrows just coming out of nowhere....

That assumes that the Fourth Wall survived the repeated batterings it has taken over the years.

The fourth wall has been broken many times, sch as when belkar faced the audience and made the crack about all the crap D&D suffers due to the term "level" and roy's famous crack about working with the tools he's given.

Wait, what walls? (sounds like something the thing in the dark would say.)

My point exactly...

Why would the arrows need to come from outside the comic?

Everyone knows flames (or acid) are the only way to kill trolls, and I see no hallucinogens here.

*Repeatedly stabs the forth wall with a black blade of disaster conjured by his level 2 mage*

Breaking the walls in so many ways it isn't even funny.

I doubt the Giant would ever actually do the joke, and it was too irresistable to pass up...
