Quick Factotum Question

Does a factotum's Arcane Dilettante ability qualify them as a spellcasting class, for purposes of prestige classes that grant new spells known/spells per day as if you'd gained a level in a spellcasting class you previously held?

No.

It probably does qualify for things that only require caster level (possibly even arcane caster level, as there's rules text that suggests that SLAs default to their wizard versions if not specified), and the ability to cast spells as SLAs does let you qualify for PrC requirements for those specific spells (though the prepared nature of Factotum SLAs makes that a bit awkward). So if you want to get your hands on Mindsight, Factotum 5 probably qualifies for Mindbender, but the PrC will not progress your Arcane Dilettante class feature, and you certainly can't qualify for, say, Archmage as a Factotum.
