Is there a way to give a specific item immunity to a specific energy type? An example would be giving a suit of hide armor immunity to all acid damage, but the wearer of said hide armor is still susceptible to the acid damage. I'm talking about beyond hardness values, but actual immunity to a specific energy type.

Armor immune to acid is a really easy example. Blueshine armor enchancement (1.5k, MiC), Durable (500gp DSc) and everbright (+1 bonus, MoF/F&P) all make armor immune to acid and rust.

Giving [Arbitrary Equipment] immunity to [Arbitrary Damage] is trickier. Is there a specific request you're making?

According to the Draconomicon any armor or shield made from dragonhide is immune to the energy type of that dragon's breath weapon.

So a dragonhide armor made from Tiamat's carcass?

If you make your equipment out of riverine (Stormwrack p128), it's immune to all damage of any kind.

I don't think you need armor if you can do that to Tiamat.

Pretty much.

Epic-Level Druid, anybody?

Ah yeah, look at that wild tiamat hide fullplate.

Edit: wait... whats the point if it never sees the light of day to take damage?

Maybe something made out of the hide of an aspect of tiamat might be a bit more easy to find?
