by RAW is there any way to get a bonus to bardic knack OTHER than more bard levels?

a seperate, but related question: would allowing bonuses to bardic knowledge to count toward bardic knack be overpowered? (so a bard 10 with 5 ranks in Knowledge (History) would be counted as a 12 level bard, meaning the bardic knack bonus would be +6)

No, though it's a reasonable houserule to make prestige classes that advance bardic knowledge also advance bardic knack if you have it instead.

In theory possibly, in practice hard to say. You can get a lot of bonuses to bardic knowledge if you know where to look, and I'm pretty sure most of them are untyped.

It is possible with Uncanny Trickster and Legacy Champion, but since those are usually just worse than taking more levels of Bard, I don't recommend them.

Bloodline levels will also advance it. They may be somewhat more viable, depending on how your DM chooses to resolve their various rules dysfunctions.

thanks guys, was planning on using the paragonastic apostle boost trick, but aparently 15 ranks (due to dips) is too much at level 20. oh well, 8 ranks isnt bad.
