Weapon Finesse

Hey,

the feat "Weapon Finesse" is marked with 1,2 in the feat-list (PH1). Is the 2 an error ?

2 means that you can take the feat multiple times, but the feat description in the list quotes 'light weapons' plural. Also the complete feat description doesn't look like the weapon focus for example.

At the moment I am not sure, if our group used the feat correctly.
Does it mean that you have to take the feat once and can use the dex-mod instead of the str-mod for attacks for all light weapons (and weapons like the elven thinblade, rapier etc.)

OR

Is it like a weapon focus and you have to choose one sort of weapons e.g. rapier and if you want to use the dex-mod. with another weapon you have to take the feat once more ?

Well, error or not, using the text over table rule, the table is ignored in favor of the text that does not mention that it can be taken again (or why), and just says that you must wield a weapon that fits the specifications it gives to gain the benefit. Still, this is something interesting I never noticed before.

In 3.0 IIRC Weapon Finesse did have to apply to a specific weapon, so it's probably a hold over from that.
