Has anyone else noticed the number of dead threads that have been popping up recently? At the time of this posting, there were three threads that suddenly popped up even though no one had posted on them in a while. The threads are organized by most recent post so why are so many showing up? Is there a thread t-virus going around? Who else has noticed this?

People google something, leads them to a thread, they post without looking at the dates (or without knowing of thread necromancy).

But yes, it does seem high of late.

It was weird. I got hit with a thread necromancy warning but the thread was on the first page in the list so I didn't think anything of it. That'll teach me not to trust automatically-sorted-by-latest-post lists to give me the most recently active threads.

It's one of the forum rules. You're not supposed to post in a thread that has gone more than 45 days without a response. You are reviving a dead thread. Hence, thread necromancy.
