Basically my DM is saying sense is the same thing as see as it pertains to advantage and disadvantage vs invisible targets or targets in darkness. Or when using spells that specifically call you that you must see the target.

Any thoughts? I was saying that sensing is not seeing, and although you know where the guy who you cant see is, you cannot see him and therefore cannot cast a spell that requires sight and still take disadv on attacks against that person and he gets adv on attacks vs you.

An example of this is otherworldly perception from the Kuo-Toa vs Darkness(spell).

It depends on the sense. A creature with blindsight or truesight does not suffer disadvantage against invisible targets or targets in darkness.

From p. 73 of the Basic Rules:

When you attack a target that you can’t see, you have disadvantage on the attack roll

...

When a creature can’t see you, you have advantage on attack rolls against it.

Neat. Are there also some convenient bits on other senses acting in relation to hiding and such? Like if a rogue tries to hide from a creature with blindsight around a corner, does the blindsight help at all?
