Some magi focus on using a combination of heavy armor, shields, and one-handed firearms to obliterate their foes.

A Gun Magus has the following class features.

Class skills:
Acrobatics (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (arcane, engineering, planes) (Int), Perception (Wis), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), Swim (Str), and Use Magic Device (Cha).

Weapon and Armor Proficiency:
A Gun Magus is proficient with all light and one-handed simple and martial weapons, as well as all one-handed firearms. The Gun magus is proficient with all armor (light, medium, and heavy) and all shields (except tower shields).

Furthermore, the gun magus can cast magus spells while wearing any armor or shield (except tower shields) without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. A multiclass magus still incurs the normal arcane spell failure chance for arcane spells received from other classes.

This replaces the magus’s normal weapon proficiencies, as well as magus’s Medium Armor and Heavy Armor abilities.

Diminished Arcane Pool:
Instead of the normal arcane pool amount, the gun magus’s arcane pool has a number of points equal to 1/3 his level (minimum 1) plus his Intelligence bonus.

This ability changes the Arcane Pool class feature.

Diminished Spellcasting:
A Gun Magus casts one fewer spell of each level than normal. If this reduces the number to 0, he may cast spells of that level only if his Intelligence allows bonus spells of that level.

Gunsmith:
At 1st level, a gun magus gains one battered pistol, and only he knows how to use it properly. All other creatures treat his gun as if it had the broken condition. If the weapon already has the broken condition, it does not work at all for anyone else trying to use it. This starting weapon can only be sold for scrap (it’s worth 4d10 gp when sold). The Gun magus also gains Gunsmithing as a bonus feat.

This replaces the magus’s Cantrips.

Telekinetic Reload:
At 1st level, while the gun magus has at least 1 arcane point and is wielding a shield, he can reload any one-handed firearm using telekinesis as a move action, without requiring a free hand to load the firearm. Furthermore, the gun magus doesn’t provoke an attack of opportunity when reloading this way.

At 8th level, the gun magus can reload his firearm as a swift action. At 14th level, the gun magus can reload his firearm as a free action. This ability does not stack with abilities or feats that modify reloading speed, such as the rapid reload feat.

This replaces the magus’s Spell Combat, Improved Spell Combat, and Greater Spell Combat abilities.

Shield and Gun (Ex):
At 3rd level, when a Gun Magus wields a one-handed firearm in one hand and a shield in the other, she can make ranged attacks with the firearm without provoking attacks of opportunity. She also gains the benefits of the Shield Bash feat.

This replaces the magus’s magus arcana gained at 3rd level.

Ranged Spellstrike (Su):
At 4th level, a Gun Magus can use ranged spellstrike to cast a single-target touch attack ranged spell and deliver it through a ranged weapon attack made with a one-handed firearm. Even if the spell can normally affect multiple targets, only a single missile, ray, or effect accompanies the attack.

At 11th level, a Gun Magus using a multiple-target spell with this ability may deliver one ray or line of effect with each attack when using a full-attack action, up to the maximum allowed by the spell (in the case of ray effects). Any effects not used in the round the spell is cast are lost.

This replaces the magus’s spell recall and improved spell recall abilities.

True Gun Magus (Ex):
At 20th level, when a gun magus threatens a critical hit with a one-handed firearm, that critical is automatically confirmed. Furthermore, if the gun magus is using a shield, the gun magus doubles the shield’s base shield bonus (before applying any enhancement bonuses and other effects) to his armor class.

This replaces the magus’s True Magus ability.

It looks interesting! But just out of curiosity, why shield and gun?

because no one has do it before, and it reminds me of the skirnir (shield maiden). using a shield shuts down a lot of builds, especially tank-casters who need a freehand.
