Wizards are the poster boys for tier 1 and they often get an often unneeded boost from PRC's.

But what PRCS are good for sorcerors?

Every single PRC that advances spellcasting fully is decent for the Sorcerer(especially if he traded away his familiar), since he gets no class abilities beyond first level.

Echoing SinsI, and if anything there are certain PrC's that actually benefit sorcerers more than they do wizards, mainly Incantrix and Mage of the Arcane Order.

The main problem is with prerequisites - no matter how incredibly great Spelldancer (Magic of Faerun) sounds, it needs 4 feats, at least 2 of which can't be gained via Heroics, and needs further 2 feats to even begin to get to the tasty part of having unlimited Persist buffs (and you still need some way to offset Constitution damage and fatigue effect)...

Its been said but I'll repeat it.
Incantatrix.

And abuse the custom runestaff rules to get a runestaff with hundreds of spells 1/day for the low low cost of (spell level ^2 x 100) gp.

Honestly, as a sorcerer, you should be spending large amounts of your WBL on your runestaff. Using your staff like a wizard uses scrolls. Except a wizard loses his scrolls once he uses them.

Rainbow Servant & War Weaver makes you the party's favourite Sorcerer :)

Almost. Meeting pre-reqs tends to be costly for sorcerers, especially spells known pre-reqs. But also metamagic or item creation feats to some extent. So for example loremaster tends to be a bad choice until you're high enough level that the spells known costs are trivial, and even then it's only ok.

Sentinel of Bharrai is pretty great, and I'm a fan of Urban Savant. Ruathar is always solid.

Anima Mage is decent for sorcerers. Escalation Mage is nice too.

even though you lose out on a level of spellcasting right away, sand shaper is good because it adds a ton of spells to your spells known.

Wild soul is fun. Gives good additional spells and the ability to spontanously summon some stuff.

I like Fiend Blooded - it's 9/10 casting (and you don't have to take level 10, where you lose a casting level), and has some nifty features. Has a feat tax to enter, however.

Ruathar is good IMHO too - 3/3 casting, and the reqs are fairly easy (as long as you manage to help out a bunch of elves).

Spelldancer is not really that bad, prereq-wise.

Start as a Human, to grab Combat Casting. Take Dodge as your 1st level feat. Then go Necropolitan at level 3, taking Endurance with that feat slot. Buy mobility as an armor ehancement on a Thistledown suit by 6th level. Then jump into Spelldancer for 4 levels. That will let you get into Abjurant Champion without any caster levels lost (Combat Casting is doing double duty in this case).

If, and only if, you're a Glimmerskin Halfling, Fleshwarper is a nice, thematic choice.
