Warlocks can enter PrCs which have prerequisites listed as "arcane caster level X," but cannot enter PrCs whose prerequisites require specific ability to cast spells. Warlocks are not spellcasters; they have an arcane caster level, but they use spell-like abilities.

then its a no for this instance. And some day i will remember this, since it more then likely our most played class.

If you want to play a warlock->arachnomancer, you could look at the spell requirements and ask the DM if you can substitute ability to use equivalent spell-like abilities as invocations. It would be a house rule, but not, perhaps, an unreasonable one.

It was updated in Drow of the Underdark. It lost its 10th level and became Drow only.

Yes, Warlocks can take Arachnomancer. They have spider climb and summon swarm as invocations to meet the prerequisite. They can take the Verminfriend feat and they can easily get the required skill ranks. I think the introductory paragraph even mentions that Warlocks commonly take the prestige class.

It is not Drow-only, BTW, that's Demonbinder.

The Underdark version requires knowing spider walk, summon swarm and web. The Drow of the Underdark versiononly requires knowing 1 of the 3 and is only 8 levels. Take the DOTU version.

I double checked and you are right. I got confused because so many of DotU's prestige classes are Drow only.

Losing the cone of spiders is sad because it was cool but the 8 level one is decently strong and very cool regardless.

If you're the DM, the answer to any question involving making a cool, fun adversary should probably swing to whichever answer makes the adversary cooler and more fun for the players.
