How much wealth would an adult pyroclastic dragon have? CR 13, 23 HD. I can't find a table or something that says how much money they should have. I want the dragon I'm throwing at my party to have equipment for himself, but I can't tell how much he should have, and also then how much should be left in his hoard and how much should be on him in the form of equipment. Is there any information on this somewhere?

Dragons, as a general rule, have 3x the standard wealth of an encounter of their CR, so that is how much it should have.

I would assume about 100,000 GP. All in the form of metabreath potions and copper pieces.

This.

In terms of how much should be horde and how much equipment, there aren't really and good guidelines for that, though there are some sample hordes in Draconomicon if you want to get an idea of a typical division.

If you want the dragon to have a hoard, it'd have to be in copper pieces, because the volume of gold pieces for anything but epic level WBL is ridiculously small.

Even copper pieces makes a fairly small pile.

The billion pennies image is where I think a dragon should be, like Smaug sized.

Darksun campaign has ceramic pieces, which not only are below copper in value but split into 10 pie bits, pieces of 8 style. You can have 10,000 ceramic money-wedges per GP value.

Aren't dragons CR'd with the assumption that they just use their own abilities and spells? If you do add items (which are almost as large a force multiplier in D&D as casting is), make sure you aren't outgunning the party too hard.
