View Full Version : Re-leveling spells to balance them with each other?

Has anyone tried rebalancing the internal spell list so that the options are more even? Moving Glitterdust to level 3, Fireball to level 1, Burning Hands to a cantrip, etc?

That would be useless.
Spells (and other features) need to be balanced against challenges you face, not against "other spells".

Although... Cant really remember the english here, so put up with me - core book, wizard Abjurations, 2nd and 3rd level. One gives 10/20/30 resistance to an element, the other absorbs some damage from one energy.
Am i the only one who tought these should be swapped around?

I see nothing wrong with their placement.
At low levels, first one makes you almost impervious to energy, blocking most of it. But at high levels its effectiveness becomes way lower (absorbing 30 damage out of 100 is nothing).

Second one acts as temporary hitpoints against damage, so properly scales.
