I saw a trailer for Gears of War when I went to see 300, and it had a really great song in it. One of the lyrics was something like 'strange that the sweetest dreams are the ones in which I die'. Does anyone know what the song was, and who sings it?

I know it's Mad World, but there's a cover of the original that's super popular, and I always get them confused.

Yes, it is Mad World. Tears for Fears was the original band but the version in the Gears of War trailer is a cover by Gary Jules.

Mad World, by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules, from the soundtrack of the movie Donnie Darko, can be bought through iTunes.

My brother and I basically did the exact same thing, heard the trailer, and decided the song is awesome, so he found it.

Well.... the trailer was in fact good, but when are they releasing the Gears of War OST, that game has so much good music in it I cant wait.

Something about the 80s was a sin against music. Gary Jules' version is a bit wimpy though. I'd like to hear hard rock and classical covers. A blues cover would be pretty awesome.
