EVOLVED MAGUS (MAGUS)

-Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An evolved magus is proficient with all simple weapons. An evolved magus is also proficient with light armor. He can cast magus spells while wearing light armor without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. Like any other arcane spellcaster, a magus wearing medium armor, heavy armor, or a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure if the spell in question has a somatic component. A multiclass magus still incurs the normal arcane spell failure chance for arcane spells received from other classes.

-Evolved Form (Su): An evolved magus is capable of preforming a brief ritual to greatly enhance their form. An evolved magus possesses an evolution pool. This pool possesses a number of points equal to the magus's level, and the evolutions the points within the pool are distributed among are applied to the magus while he is in his evolved form. These evolutions may be changed whenever the evolved magus gains a level.

-To enter their evolved form, an evolved magus must perform a minute long ritual. Afterwards, a magus remains in this state until he leaves it (a standard action) or is rendered unconscious. While in their evolved form, an evolved magus is treated simultaneously as a creature of their original type and as an outsider, and may utilize all class features they possess normally. If a dismissal or banishment spell is cast upon the evolved magus while in their evolved form, and he fails his save, they immediately leave their evolved form. For the purpose of determining what evolutions the evolved magus has access to, treat them as a summoner of a level equal to their magus level. This replaces the magus's Spell Recall, Knowledge Pool, and Improved Spell Recall.

Diminished Arcane Pool (Su): As with all magi, an evolved magus possesses an arcane pool, though a diminished one. An evolved magus possesses an arcane pool with a number of points equal to 1/4 his magus level + his intelligence modifier. This alters the magus's Arcane Pool.

-Diminished Spellcasting: An evolved magus can cast one fewer spell of each level than normal. If this reduces the number to 0, he can cast spells of that level only if his Intelligence allows bonus spells of that level.

-Spells: Add Transmogrify to the list of spells an evolved magus can learn. This does not mean an evolved magus automatically learns it, only that they may put it into their spellbook. Lacking an eidolon, when cast by the evolved magus this spell allows them to reallocate their own evolution pool.

I like this. Might want to specify that they can still cast/spellstrike while all eidolon'd up.

However, replacing Arcane Pool means most the Magus arcana are unusable. Maybe just reduce the size of the arcane pool, and grant fewer evolution points?

Specified, and provided a diminished arcane pool and reduced the number of evolution points.

Though, how much do you think is reasonable for the evolution pool? Magus level? 1/2 magus level? Include modifier or don't? operate off a different progression? Include Int Mod? Don't?

1/4 + Int looks good, as does the new evolution pool.

I cannot help but feel this is missing.. something. Aside from proper flavor text and perhaps a clean up of language in the class feature.

If anyone has any further input, it would be greatly appreciated.
