Jump To New Post Issue/Bug

So, here's what happens.

I go to settings which brings me to my list of threads with new posts, no problems.

I click a thread, go to the first post page, no problem.

I click the link to go to the first newest unread post, and my browser (Chrome) downloads a showthread.htm, I open the file and it sends me to the unread new post.

I'm fairly sure just going to a new thread post just loaded said post in the same tab, and didn't cause anything to be downloaded.

What OS? What version of Chrome (three lines menu->About Google Chrome)

OS: Windows 8

Chrome: Version 42.0.2311.135 m

Edit: I went through my steps previously mentioned in my last post and the site seems to be functioning normally for me now.
