Best spells to persist

After looking at Anima Mage from Tome of Magic I was thinking about really good wizard spells to persist from 3.5 and pathfinder. So far I have Greater Invisibility (later superior), and Thunderlance for cool points. Anyone else have good and fun ideas?

My favourite is shrink object. There's just so much style that you can shove into that simple spell. You can keep a shrunk down staff as a necklace that extends out in your hand when you want to get into a fight. You can drop spring boards on the ground that both spring out and expand at the same time as you're standing on them. You can keep a very smokey fire and all the smoke as a re-usable smoke bomb as a handkerchief. You can keep some narrow spikes that expand out to block hallways as you retreat. Possibly not always useful, but it has a lot of flair.

Edit: Clearly I'm drunk. I thought this was about permanency.

If you also have Ocular Spell, you might be able to add to that list plenty of spells that you couldn't normally Persist due to them having a range of Touch or something like Close instead of Fixed.
