So are there any good Old-West D20 books out there that anyone can reccomend? Has anyone homebrewed an old west style campaign setting? Anyone interested in playing an old west "deadwood"-esque type game?

Well,
I'll shill for the Deadlands setting. It's not straight Old West ,though I guess it could be played that way.

The original system is great fun. Some of the mechanics are card-draws and poker hands. There's a mechanic similar to Eberron Action Points, too (with the twist that when you use your AP, the DM sometimes gets one to use for the bad-guys).

There's a d20 version, and the flavor's good enough that it may be worth picking up.

Deadlands, eh? Sounds cool, I'll have to check that one out.

Thanks man.

DEADLANDS!

Savage Worlds is an awesome system.

SERIOUSLY DO NOT try to run Deadlands d20 should you find it in some bargain bin. It failed horribly for a reason, that being it was a horrible failure. The Deadlands system as it's written is awesome and made of win.

The Deadlands campaign setting? Even more so. Deadwood even has its own section as an adventure site.

Hmmn. I think Kenzer and Company are producing an Old West type game by the name of Aces and Eights (http://www.kenzerco.com/index.php?cPath=25_29).

d20 Modern would probably work out. They have some old-timey gear in their Core Rulebook, and Weapons Locker had a few more. No cost indexes and the like for lassos, horses, or leather pants, though...

There's a D20 Past supplement for Modern that can handle Westerns. But seriously, Play Deadlands!

What about a straight up historical style? Deadlands seemed more fatasy like.

Edit: Aces and Eights looks like that, but established and praised seems safer than developing and unknown.
Edit 2: The other question being, anyone know anything about Kenzer's other products?

Their stuff is overall pretty solid, but has suffered in recent years, mainly due to the declining market and Wizards messing them about with regards to the license agreement. Aces and Eights is long awaited, it might turn out to be great, but I haven't heard enough about it yet and have never had the opportunity to play it.
