Welcome one and all to the voting thread for the second 3.X Ancillary Contest: It's All in the Blood (or not) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?411057-3-X-Ancillary-Contest-III-It-s-All-in-the-Blood-%28or-not%29). Voting will consist of each voter giving a first, a second, and a third place vote, as well as a vote for the categories of Most Original, Most Likely to See Play, and Best Use of Theme. Anyone can vote, and in fact, entrants must vote to qualify for victory. Unfortunately for Fuzzysora Best Monty Python reference is not a category :smallfrown:

A first place vote is worth three points, a second place vote is worth two points, and a third place vote is worth one point. Votes for the three other categories are each worth 1 point in their category. You may not vote for your own entry.

You are encouraged to include reason with your votes, though this is not absolutely required.

The class that ends up with the most points wins the contest overall, and each category goes to the class with the most votes in it. Voting starts now and will continue until 23:59 (Eastern Standard Time USA/Canada; GMT-5) on June 8th.

And much of the formatting of this post was copied from Temotei's Base Class Challenge voting thread.

And this time don't make me break a tie :smalltongue:

No Monty Python category?! I demand a recount!

1st place: Jormengands Racial Fighting Styles. These are really cool, and seem like something I would use in game, and I would be happy to see my players use these for more variety. In addition, I am nominating Racial Fighting Styles for all three of the bonus categories.

2nd place: Jurai's Eldritch stuff. I appreciate the work put into this, but unfortanately I don't know anything about Vestiges or Eldritch's. So I can't rank this higher out of a lack of understanding.

3rd Place: Spikes Among the sheep Feat: Incomplete, which is disappointing. I would just need some stats and it would probably be 2nd

1st Place: Jormengand's Racial Fighting Style feats. He put a lot of effort and research into his feats, and they are quite future-proofed, as well as Most Likely to See Play and Best Use of Theme.

2nd Place: Fuzzysora's Your Father Smelt of Elderberries. A very specific and unusual feat, though I have some questions: How does it interact with Ranger's (or other classes') Favored Enemy class feature, since that's Extraordinary and does not key off detecting what type you are. Most Original, since there's a minimal chance of having a plant ancestor, and very few effects allow to crit or sneak attack those vile vegetable villains.

3rd Place: Spikeof2010's Among the Sheep. Sadly incomplete, but an amazing feat for a socially focused ranger, and of great use for a gambler type character.

Since it doesn't actually change your type to plant, Rangers will still think your pretty much a weird green hued human or whatever you may be playing as. They get no bonuses to fighting you, because your not technically a plant. Basically, and supernatural or spell like ability that can detect subtype detects you as plant.

Ah. All right then.

1st Place: The Racial Fighting Styles. They're interesting and worthwhile feats that link together to
provide actually usable benefits. Also going to give that one Most Likely To See Play and Best Use of Theme.

Second Place: Your Father Smelled of Elderberries. A lovely reference and quite funny, but I don't think it's that useful outside of being a funny joke. I will give that Most Original though, since it was pretty unexpected.

Third Place: Eldritch Essence and Vestige. While I liked this mechanically better than the second place feat, I didn't see how it linked up solidly with the theme.
