That first one looks suspiiiiiiiiiciously much like the Mediterranean sea... Coincidence? I smell a conspiracy!

First one is Europe plus some sea level rise.

Much prefer the Antarctica one. Of course given time ice free isostatic rebound would cause most of that interesting topography to disappear, that can just be ignored. The Antarctica one gives lots of interesting islands, bays, straights, peninsulas, and an isthmus connecting the big island with its southwestern extension. All sorts of interesting history that can grow out of that kind of diverse topography.

I'm seeing far ranging horse culture on the north eastern plains. And a diverse collection of seafaring peoples in the south west. The Trans-Antarctic Mountains combined with the sea and islands makes me think of Greece and the Mediterranean. And with the areas having such mountainous protection I could see a huge number of diverse cultures springing up near one another and having the sea means a lot of trade could come about.

You are right, it is Europe in the same way 7th Sea is Europe. You cpould call it Uropa; as good a name as any other.

Europe yes, sea level rise no.

It is Antarctica but I intended it to be a world map similar to the way Mystara is based around Earth millions of years ago, but based on an ice free Antarctica. I really love your ideas for the inhabitants of the continent.

Just spent the last two hours or so on the road, was thinking about the Antarctica continent. Made up three groups of peoples entering the continent from three different directions, based on real life peoples. Though it doesn't take into account what the other landmasses would be like with a warmer latitude Antarctica. Instead I'll just pretend they sailed through some portals.

Australian aborigines, Khoisan south africans, and Patagonian south americans. Then modified them both physically and culturally based on where they landed and had to adapt to. Trying to imagine how their existing cultures might adapt to the new world. Then moved their culture and technology forward to the bronze age. Didn't get past there before I got home, but it made the ride more enjoyable.

I mostly just imagine it based on what I know of Antarctica.

The west is dominated by the Trans-Antarctic Mountains, It is folded, alpine, earthquake prone, and would make up a lot of the sea coast if ice free.

The east is an assortment of plains, hills, mountains. Would have a more diverse continental climate.

There a lot of maps you can find on google that can help. Just type in ''antarctica topography'' and you can get a bunch of different looks at the continent and imagine from there.
