Can you make my coat of arms? (40K)

Dear artists,

Soon I will start a roguetrader campaign here on the boards. I will be the rogue trader and created a neat character to do the job. However my family does not have a coat of arms and since I am not so skilled at any form of making visable artwork (I think I can just manage to make stick figure in paint), I will have to ask for your expertise.

My request is:


It has to resemble a atrong merchant family so anything related to trade would be amazing.
More skulls is more better (as anything in 40K I like it to be decorated with skulls, not too overdone, but if you are familiar with 40K you know what I mean)
I would love it to be centered about the symbol shown below
The coulours would be silver, blue and black.
May be in OOTS style (simplistic drawings)
I will leave the rest of the design totally up to you.

Not going to guarantee anything for my part, but just to get an idea of what you're after:

When you say "coat of arms", what exactly are you after? Strictly speaking, a coat of arms is just a design on a shield, so something like this (with more colour and detail):

I presume you want a bit more than that. Do you want a full achievement, with supporters, helm, crest, motto, etc. (all appropriately 40Kified, of course)? Or just a design you can use in various contexts? The first example you've given is more like an achievement, whereas the next two are just banners.

How about a field argent with a sable chevron.

An azure House Vess symbol below the chevron.

Merchant families usually use a ship as a symbol so I would add both a ship azure to the left and a skull azure to the right above the chevron.

Thoughts?

Yes about the exact name of what I want.. English is not my mother-language so when I mean coat fo arms, I mean would indeed be an achievement (didn't know it was called that). Yes that first one would be more of something I would be looking for.

Thank you for showing interrest as well.

I think an argent would not be prestigious enough I think (not that I want to give you guys hours of work, hehe). Something wirth a skull and a ship sounds nice.

I am really looking forward to what you come up with. if anything is unclear still, let me know, when it comes to exact termonology like 'chevron' and 'achievement' my English is not that amazing and I have sometimes a hard time explaining. My apologies.

That's fine; there are a lot of technical terms in heraldry which even native English speakers don't know. I think the thing to do is probably to come up with a good design for the "shield" (doesn't have to be a shield) and then that can be put in a variety of situations fairly easily: on a banner, as part of a grander achievement or the like.

My artistic skills are not amazing but I'll see what I can come up with.

As I said, I am also very happy with a simplictic drawing, for example OOTS style. It would just be very nice to have something to show as to be the representation of my family's power and legacy.
