The God Emperor of mankind is usually consided the 40k setting's trump card, something the pull out when the rest of 40k's purple prose doesnt convey enough scale to affect the foe. Supernova eyebeams, throwning a monster from the surface of one planet to the surface of another, dodging lasers, the GEoM is played up as an unstoppable superbeing.

GCU Grey Area, on the other hand, is a Culture General Contact Unit, one of the smaller sized culture starships run by a post singularity super AI. Picosecond reaction times, FTL sensors, "weapon" ranges measured in lightyears, and Grey Area in particular is noted to ignore the culture's normal restriction on reading minds. (again, at lightyear ranges)

Chaos is not considered a factor in this Vs, but if the Emperor needs ships or allies, feel free to add them in.

He's only the God Emperor after become a cripple unable to deny his divinity, so this is basically the same as "who wins, Stephan Hawking or an Abrams tank" just with the scale increased a bit.

Stephen Hawkings versus an Abrams Tank? Hawkings wins. You didn’t say the Tank has a crew after all.

On topic: AI controlled, heavyly armed spaceship against a guy who needs a lifesupport system to keep at least a semblance of life? I give it to the ship. All it has to do is to fire from its maximum range into his general direction until it hits. Easy win.

The Emperor can canonically create Warp Storms post Horus Heresy, so he could very well just make one around the ship and watch it melt into the raw chaos of the warp if he's in the throne, if he's still alive it's iffy, he supposedly defeated a creature that could warp the laws of physics with a combination of psychic powers and a pointy stick, but I don't know how he'd do flying through space.

In the thread discussions, there are topics of what powers could do what, beyond the stories. Mostly, the Emperor in his Prime could clear Sol of Culture influence due to his Time stop powers with supernova eyebeam and whatnot, but he couldn't stand against anything where he personally isn't.

Not the Grey Area's MO.

Y'see, its hobby is to find the perpetrators of genocide, war, ethnic cleansing and the like and make them live out the many many deaths of their victims in their dreams to see what it makes them do.

A Culture ship can not only read but plant thoughts into specific organic brains from at least several AU distant, probably from several light years distant (with the same tools it can use to, for instance, tear open rifts in spacetime to draw borderline unlimited quantities of energy into realspace at a specific point).

There's a reason nobody talks to it. It's not very polite to people.
