"She doesn't remember the fall.

She doesn't remember anything, really. To say she 'remembers' is to say there is a cohesive, linear timeline that runs between her thoughts...She can't tell what is memory and what isn't.

Occasionally, she remembers snow."

We find out that Waterboy was just the prequel for Billy Madison. How? Bobby changed his mind about playing fooseball, made a fortune he accidentally leveraged into an even larger one, he had to change his name to avoid the stalkers trying to beg money from him, then he and his wife had a boy named billy who takes after his daddy better than he likes to let on. BOOM! See, its not just pixar that has a unified universe theory for all its films!

You have to admit, Star Wars would make more sense crossed over with a Final Fantasy-style plot about a young man and his friends fighting The Darkness than, say, Winnie the Pooh.

^ This, seriously. It's the reason I just can't get into KH or take it remotely seriously. When I think "epic action-JRPG", Goofy is not at all what comes to mind.

(And no, don't bother telling me about that one cutscene where Goofy was a total badass and mastered Omnislash on his first try or whatever. I don't care, the visual styles just clash too much for me.)

Mystic Muse

Well he's a Jedi. And Superman.

But yeah, he's sort of the least badass of the Disney cast. I mean, there's Mickey, the private detective and his fight against the Mafia/corrupt police, there's Donald who's a marine, a space hero and Batman and his uncle of course, who is everything cool in one character.

I, on the other hand, am eagerly awaiting the chance to fight Darth Vader as a secret Bonus Boss.

You have to admit, Star Wars would make more sense crossed over with a Final Fantasy-style plot about a young man and his friends fighting The Darkness than, say, Winnie the Pooh.

Winnie the Pooh themed adventures are side missions with no combat and little relevance to the plot.

It's quite literally just a breather level, so it kind of fits for what it's for.

As for not being able to take the games seriously... Everybody, everybody, has something in a Disney Movie that scared the crap out of them when they were little.

In Kingdom Hearts-you can get revenge.

Genndy Tartakovsky directed. It seems to hold a lot of his humor and animation style -- although I may have been projecting my own feelings since I knew he was driving the project.

Personally, I thought it was great. I'm not a big fan of Sandler's regular crew, but they seemed to have done just fine in animated formatting.

That might actually be funny, if it like, at the end, a random movie nerd wakes up and it's all a Nightmare.

you know, I'd kind of like it, if in one of the star wars sequels they're making, if like, one of the characters was like, one of Jar Jar's relatives, but he's actually competent and likable, just the exact opposite of what you'd expect.

How about 50 shades of the Room.

It would just move from bad to incoherently bad, particularly if Tommy Wiseau is your Christian Grey.

Basic problem with 50 Shades is that it's dull, only the sexual subject matter is potentially interesting and it's devoid of the sort of depth that could make it rise above bad fanfic-ness. Twilight is a better work in every way imaginable and it's Twilight. Putting alternative characters in the roles of Anastasia Steele or Christian Grey would not make it more interesting and would only serve to undermine them, while putting Steele and Grey into different roles in another's work would be amusing for a few seconds of potential schadenfreude before you realize how lifeless and insipid they are. 50 Shade's popularity bemuses me, I can only explain it with the strong possibility that those in its intended demographic have never read truly erotic works and live very sheltered lives, or they simply love the Bella/Edward-type characters for reasons I'm unwilling to think about for fear of ending up like a Lovecraft protagonist.

I keep trying to come up with a Trolls 2 and "inner godess" joke, but can't come up with one that doesn't wind up sounding absolutely filthy.

At one point, after reading a Slocum western (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slocum_(westerns)) for class, I wanted to write a series of novels, where John Slocum finds himself stumbling through someone else's better read plot.

Instead, I've been rewriting that novel, setting it in Kalamar (http://www.kenzerco.com/hackmaster/setting.php) (with the protagonist being Odd Jill, who I've written a short story about before (http://rpgcrank.blogspot.com/2014/07/episode-at-old-mine.html)), and trying not to suck so much.

You'd be disappointed :smallannoyed: It's just three hours of Trogdor filling his taxes. He leaves once for coffee. Also he looks at pile longingly once and sighs.

It's pretty boring.

It's just availability. A demographic starved of a set of desires they don't normally admit to having are presented with a social out to make it happen. If erotic fiction were in any way a respectable genre in the US, 50 Shades would have been consigned to failure and that author wouldn't have polluted the pop culture head space for the rest of us.

I'd also guess that, somewhat more embarrassingly, having someone cartoonishly rich in your life is more escapist than usual in the current American economy. Also, although this renders a bit of a joke in the SM community, what the couple engages in isn't particularly adventurous. It's just gimmicky to appeal to someone who's never heard of such things ever.

Anecdotally, I was at a Tabletop RP the weekend before last, and the DM was pretty terrible. One player absolutely loved the entire experience, and couldn't wait for the next session. Probably not coincidentally, this was the only one of the five players who's never role played before. She just doesn't know how much better things can be yet.

My concern about it's popularity has more to do with the fact that Fifty Shades is a horribly inaccurate depiction of the ...demographic, that it claims to depict. I can get why it's popular: It's literally the author's AU Twilight Fic with the name's changed, so it's popular for the same reason's Twilight was.

I'm more concerned about the effects it's popularity is going to have on members of the aforementioned demographic: Fifty Shades isn't so much BDSM as it is romanticized rape and abuse screaming "It's just bondage" as a smokescreen, and getting away with it because all of the witnesses to the crime are too ignorant to tell the difference

I'm honestly certain that the author isn't actually familiar with that particular subculture.

Um, Jar Jar getting destroyed horribly and sadistically and violently.
Obviously Jar-Jar wins without taking any serious injury. Why would you even think otherwise?

Something I suspect most fans of it are aware of, as the books are rather unambiguously smut. Glorified romance novels aren't generally read for their accurate depictions of real life.

Jurassic Ascending, a Jurassic World/Jupiter Ascending cross.

Wickerman Ascending, for the greatest bad scene involving bees ever.

Jar-Jar Park, a clone of the original Jurassic Park, but all the dinosaurs are replaced with variously sized Jar-Jars. (Imagine the dilophosaurus scene but with Jar-Jar's ears flying up instead of a neck frill. )

Fifty Shades of Food Fight.

Carebears: Age of Extinction.

Devil Signs, a suspenseful let down of a movie, focusing on a group of humans and aliens trapped in a space elevator, slowly being picked off as the lights fail, only to reveal that the devil and the alien devil have been fighting over them the whole time.

I believe I read an article where according to the research, injuries due to messed up bondage techniques have doubled since the books came out. A surprising number of people really do believe thats how it works and get hurt trying it themselves.

No. Causing fires is arson.
