Constrict on creatures trying to break free

so I was wondering if I have the constrict ability and I'm in a grapple.
The opposed grappler tries to break free, do I get to constrict if I win the grapple check?
According to MM1 p.307 it says that I get to constrict after each successful grapple check, what I don't know is if it counts as a won grapple check.

Yes. you get constrict damage every time you make a successful grapple check.

this applies when you:

1) win an opposed grapple after activating your impgrap ability via bite (such as with constrictor snake)
2) roll grapple to damage an enemy once grappling
3) grapple to pin
4) grapple to move an enemy around
5) when they try to escape a grapple
