The sun beats down as it reaches midday. The island is quiet except for the wind rustling the trees and the waves crashing gently against the beach.
The village lies in a clearing in the forest, with only a few trees separating it from the beach. There are only 10-15 huts, a large wooden log house, a great, silken tent in the center, and a small well. At the seaside edge of the village, group of men stand next to a hut's window, eyeing a pie suspiciously.
Even the trees and waves seem to stop as a red scaled lizard folk puts his finger in the pie and eats a bite.
