Metamind fix idea - free power points every round

What if each of the Metamind levels wherein they did not get "+1 level of existing manifesting class," they got a power called "Psychic Wellspring?"

Psychic Wellspring (Su): The first level metamind taps into his psychic wellspring, drawing a constant trickle of psionic power from his inner mind. He cannot hold it for long, but there's always more if it doesn't get used. Each round, he gains 1 free, temporary power point which he may spend as if it were part of his own reserves or the pp stored in any other source. It goes away if unspent before the next one becomes available. At level 3, he gains 2pp in this fashion each round. This further improves by 1pp at levels 5, 7, and 9 (for totals of 3, 4, and 5pp he gets for free each round).



The most broken thing I can think of off the top of my head is that any metamind with Bestow Power can freely recharge anybody he likes once he reaches level 6 in he PrC. It stacks interestingly with Wild Surge, though, admittedly. This could be handled by explicit callout, the way Bestow Power specifically calls out that it can't be put into a psionic item.

PF metamind still gets PP/day on every level, and their capstone is a pseudo diehard mixed with infinite power points for a while. It's a fairly good prc, and far better than 3.5's

Entering as an ardent and taking practiced manifester would make it hurt far less.

Not really - an ardent 10/metamind 10 has a whopping 16 powers known. This is almost as few as a wilder. Psions laugh at him behind his back. Psychic warriors give him wedgies in the locker room.

At only four more powers known, none of them higher than sixth level, and far fewer power points I'm pretty sure the psychic warrior would be no problem for the ardent/metamind The psion on the other hand will probably be about par with the metamind for PP when its abilities are considered, but they are ahead by 19 powers known but even a full ardent lags behind by 15 powers so odds seem to be in the psion's favour either way.
