Background
I am starting to play as a level 3 wizard.

I am pretty sure I want to later on get into Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil PrC.

We are playing in feat-high campaign, so instead of getting feats every 3rd level, we get them every 2nd, and human get 2 feats at level 1, instead of 1, in addition bonus feats are not every 5 levels, but every 4.

Stats
I've chosen to play a human, with the following stats:
Str 8
Dex 16
Con 14
Int 18
Wis 10
Cha 8
(If I am not mistaken, this is 35 points build).

Feats
These are the feats I've choosen:
1st level (3 feats):
Skill focus (concentration), Spell focus (abj), Greater spell focus (abj) (to meet PrC reqs later on).

2nd level (2 feats):
Improved Initiative (important for a wizard), Extend spell (good low level metamagic and a requirment for taking Sculpt spell later on).

At 3rd level there are no feats.
At 4th level I am planning to take:
Alactrituos cogitation (bonus feat) and Energy abjuration (both from Complete Mage), or Sculpt spell instead of Energy abjuration.

Spells
I want to create strategist (battle controller) type of wizard, and this is my list of spells, so far. I am about to receive a few extra spells from the DM.

Level 1
Protection From X
Web Shield
Mage Armour
Identify
Color Spray
Ray Of Enfeeblement
Feather Fall
Enlarge Person

Level 2
Resinous Tar (CM)
Incendiary Slime (CM)

A little question about protection from good/evil/chaos/etc spell... I choose which one to cast in the moment I cast, right?

Conclusion
What do you think of this build, so far? Suggestions? Improvements? This is the first time I am building a wizard. I've read TLN guide, and a great deal of other posts.

All the protections are seperate.

Energy abjuration: IT'S A TRAP! (Nah, just echoing rhetoric. But suposedly, there are better things to spend feats on, and you have to get the element right)

You have no grease?! (Grease. It's a good thing)

34 points used.

Energy Abjuration: You gain energy resistance whenever you cast an abjuration spell, but only against the next energy attack. It's a pretty decent number, at least, so this feat is worth taking for people who cast lots of abjuration spells. Actually, it might not be all that worth while.

Yes, sorry, my bad - it is 34 points build.

Why energy abjuration is a trap? Don't you think it is a good way to prevent 1st round damage, before I can act?

One recommendation: If you have Complete Mage, pick up the Master Specialist prestige class ASAP. It gives you two of the three prerequisite feats (namely, Greater Spell Focus and Skill Focus [Spellcraft]) as bonus feats. And its prerequisite feat is... Spell Focus! The synergy with Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil is a thing of beauty.

I don't think he's playing a specialist...

With that many feats you can afford a few flavoursome (crappier) ones. Looks pretty good to me, although another Spel Focus feat would let you go into Archmage later if you like.

Or get improved initiative so you're less likely to get hit by something.

If you care, I have a built a Intiate of the Seven fold veil up to 20

Wizard-3
Master Specialist-6
Initiate of the Seven Fold veil-7
Master Specialist-4 or Abjuration Champion-4

I can give more info if you want(I should have that sheet somewhere around here.)

What, no dip into Fatespinner?

Why do I want a dip into Fatespinner?

I don't think I want to specialize. Yes, I lose spells, but I want a wider selection of them.

What spell should I replace for grease?

Why do I want a dip into Fatespinner?

Two levels of Fatespinner = the ability to make another character (friend or foe) re-roll one die, once per day, and take the new result; and the ability, once per day, to add +2 to the save DC of one of your spells. Make your enemies re-roll when they get a natural 20 vs your save-or-lose, or help your allies make a crucial save.

The only prereq for Fatespinner that you wouldn't have anyway is 5 ranks in Profession: Gambler, and the benefit is well worth it IMO. You can't get into IotSV until 10th, so you might as well dip Fatespinner for levels 8 and 9.

I don't think I want to specialize. Yes, I lose spells, but I want a wider selection of them.

Up to you. My feeling is that the extra slots are more than worth the slight loss of versatility, and specializing does make it significantly easier to meet the IotSV prereqs thanks to Master Specialist. You get two of the three feats required as bonus feats. Of course, you do lose the 5th-level wizard bonus feat; still, that's a net gain of 1 feat, which is considerable.

What spell should I replace for grease?

Do you even need to swap one out? Looking at your spell list, I count 8 first-level spells. You have Int 18, which means your starting spellbook held 7 first-level spells, and you would have gotten two more when you hit wizard level 2. So you should be getting one more 1st-level spell there.

My bad. This is the correct list:

Level 1
Resinous Tar (CM)
Protection From X
Web Shield
Mage Armour
Identify
Color Spray
Ray Of Enfeeblement
Feather Fall
Enlarge Person

Level 2
Incendiary Slime (CM)
Web

In addition, what is the most used Protection From X spell? And, what level 1 spell should I replace for Grease?

At L3 I wouldn't waste a prepared 1st level spell on Feather Fall.

Hmmm, with that many feats available to you, I'm tempted to suggest the Mind Over Body feat (from Faerun) at first level. It could make your wizard much less squishy. There are probably other, better feats, but have a look at it.

Ok, I've been playing around with the selection of spells and feats, so tell me what you think. I am still going for the initiate of the sevenfold veil, but wanted to get sculpt spell feat first, so I've changed the order of the feats.

Feats
Level 1: skill focus (concentration), collegiate wizard, extend spell
Level 2: Improved Initiative, Sculpt spell
Level 4: Alactrituos cogitation, spell focus (abj)

In a later level, I will be taking greater spell focus (abj), to enter the PrC.

Spells:
Taken collegiate wizard, I have more spells available. I am going for battlefield controller type of wizard, specializing in conjuration, dropping evocation and enchantment. Please tell me what you think about the spell selection and what would you change:

Level 1:
Resinous Tar
Protection From Evil
Shield
Mage Armour
Identify
Color Spray
Ray Of Enfeeblement
Feather Fall
Grease
Buzzing Bee
True Strike
True Casting

Level 2:
Pyrotechnics
Web
Baleful Transposition
Phantasmal Assailants

I am missing a couple useful 2nd level spells, like invisibility and mirror image, but we are now in a gnome city, I figured out there would be some gnome mages from whom I can copy several illusion spells.
