Eidolon abuse?

Can an Eidolon be used as an Additional Participant in an epic spell?
If so you can cast spells with a "normal" Spellcraft DC of over 1000 without any consequences by having your Eidolons burn 20000 xp!

I've also wondered why multispell+intensified Delayed Blast Fireball can deal 720 points of damge in a round (instant death for most 20-25 level PCs). Overpowered anyone?

For the second Question: Damage is suboptimal, a wizards job is to do what others can't, and a fighter is great at dealing damage.
